Which message should appear after Setting the Browser Extension Monitor with the URL provided by Dynatrace in the section Menu - Deploy Dynatrace - Monitor Via Browser Extension - Set up Monitoring?

After clicking Connect Applications, the message "Applications successfully connected" should appear. Return to the Dynatrace configuration page, DEFINE a name for your application, and set the URL INJECTION PATTERN.

Other option if OneAgent installation is not available is...

Agentless RUM, in which a JS tag must be introduced into page HTML manually.

How to expand/deploy the configured Browser-Extension Real User Monitoring to our company?

For either company-wide, or to a specific group of users, there are step-by-step instructions for the Browser (Edge not yet ToT) / Windows group policies / so we can verify the deployment, with help of THE ONLINE DOCUMENTATION.

Typically, the easiest way to gather RUM (Real User Monitoring) data for our application is...

Installing OneAgent in the application servers: full stack monitoring (which includes RUM) is enabled by default

How to Get There

Menu - Deploy Dynatrace - Monitor Via Browser Extension - Set up Monitoring

First we have to configure...

Our new Dynatrace Browser Extension. We copy the configuration URL, and look on the browser (now with options for Chrome, Firefox or Edge) for the greyed out Dynatrace RUM icon from the browser toolbar, and paste the copied URL. Click Connect Applications.

What does Dynatrace do with the injection pattern provided?

The extension WILL APPLY regex pattern recognition against the URL provided. When it matches, the extension INJECTS the Dynatrace JS tag and begins gathering RUM data.

If neither of the OneAgent, or the Agentless Real User Monitoring option are available...

We can try Real User Monitor (RUM) Browser Extension. We get it from the Chrome Web Store - Dynatrace - Dynatrace Real User Monitoring Extension. It's expected the extension will read and change website data. After the extension is added, the Integration will start.

After setting the injection pattern...?

We click "Create Application". Once again, we go to the Dynatrace extension and click "Connect Applications" to ensure to have loaded the latest configuration.

Once the configuration is DONE, we go to the browser, and explore the configured application...

We notice the Dynatrace icon is fully in color, meaning the injection of the JS tag was succesfull, and monitoring data is being collected. We can check this out if we click "view application" on the finishing window of Dynatrace. We can see the Application's Overview page.
