transitional epithelium

Composed of stratified squamous, can stretch and go back to normal. Urinary system organ. bladder

Stratified Columnar

Found in the conjunctiva of the eye, in parts of the pharynx, anus, the uterus, and the male urethra and vas deferens. Functions in protection. Layers of Surface cells are columnar and cells underneath vary.

Exocrine

secretes outside (of bloodstream), found in liver and pancreas, secretes materials that leave the body. Examples of exocrine glands include sweat, salivary, mammary, ceruminous, lacrimal, sebaceous, and mucous.

Simple Squamous

Single Layer of flat cells that forms membranes and functions in diffusion, filtration, and secretion

pseudostratifed columnar epithelium

Single layer but some cells are shorter than others giving a false impression of stratification. Found in the respiratory tract.

simple columnar epithelium

Single layer of tall cells which function in secretion and absorption, and they propel mucus through the body In humans, a simple columnar epithelium lines most organs of the digestive tract including the stomach, small intestine, and large intestine.

stratified cuboidal epithelium

Stratified cuboidal epithelium is a type of epithelial tissue composed of multiple layers of cube-shaped cells. Only the most superficial layer is made up of cuboidal cells, and the other layers can be cells of other types.

stratified squamous epithelium

Stratified squamous epithelium is a type of tissue found covering and lining parts of the body. In this tissue, cells are flattened, joined tightly together, and stacked. The major function of this tissue type is protection, as it is found in areas that undergo wear-and-tear like the lining of the skin, mouth and esophagus

Endocrine

a set of glands that secrete hormones into the bloodstream, found in thyroid, adrenals and pituitary glands.

simple cuboidal epithelium

a single layer cells that are as tall as they are wide. The important functions of the simple cuboidal epithelium are secretion and absorption. This epithelial type is found in the small collecting ducts of the kidneys, pancreas, and salivary glands.
