Absolute Cell Reference
A cell reference that refers to cells by their fixed position in a worksheet; an absolute cell reference remains the same when the formula is copied
mixed cell reference
A cell reference with only one dollar sign before either the column or the row is called a mixed cell reference
pie chart
A chart that shows the relationship of each part to a whole
data stamp
A data stamp show the date a workbook, report, or other document was created or the period it represents.
chart sheet
A workbook sheet that contains only a chart
relative cell reference
In a formula, the address of a cell based on the relative position of the cell that contains the formula and the cell referred to
data series
Related data points represented by data markers; each data series has a unique color or pattern represented in the chart legend
sensitivity analysis
The process of changing the values in cells to see how those changes affect the outcome of formulas in a worksheet
what-if-analysis
The process of changing the values in cells to see how those changes affect the outcome of formulas in a worksheet
freeze the titles
To alleviate this problem, Excel allows you to freeze the titles, so that excel displays the titles on the screen, no matter how far or to right you scroll.
drag and drop
Using the mouse to move or copy cells is called drag or drop
goal seeking
You can now use goal seeking to determine the value of a cell on which the formula depends.
clipboard
a clipboard is a reserved place in the computers memory that allows you to text and graphic from an Office document and then paste them into almost any other type of document.
nested IF function
is one in which the action to be taken for the true or false case includes yet another IF function.
NOW function
is one of 22 date and time functions available in excel.
offsetting
offsetting or exploding it from the rest of the slices so that it stands out.
sparkline chart
provides a simple way to show tends and variations in a range of data within a single cell.
IF function
the IF function is useful when you want to assign a value to a cell based on a logical test.
underline
the underline format only the characters in the cell, rather than the entire cells, as is the case when you assigned a cell at the bottom border.
format symbol
when numbers entered with a format symbol, excel immediately displays it with the assigned format.
exploded pie chart
The action of pulling out one or more pie slices from a pie chart for emphasis
Category axis
The area along the bottom of a chart that identifies the categories of data; also referred to as the x-axis
