Accent Aigu. Makes the "e" sound like the vowel sound in the word "say".

à,è,ù.

Accent Grave. Makes the "e" sound like the vowel sound in the word "let". Only affects the "e".

ç

Cedille. Turns the "k"sound into an "s" sound.

â,ê,î,ô,û

Circonflex. Indicates that as the language evolved, a letter was removed.

ë,ï,ü (also a and o)

Tréma. Indicates that the two vowels need to be pronounced separately. Is always on the second vowel.
