Yukon
A territory in northwestern Canada, bordered by Alaska.
Atlantic Region
Located in the easternmost area of Canada (P.E.I., NS, NB, Nfld) it has a moderate climate. Fishing, forestry, offshore oil (Hibernia), and some agriculture are important.
Great Lakes - St. Lawrence Region
Although the smallest region, it has the highest population. It has a mild climate which supports the agricultural industry. It is the core industrial and manufacturing area of Canada.
Ontario
Canada's most populous province, the majority of it's population lives on the fertile lowlands by the Great Lakes.
British Columbia
Canada's westernmost province, located within the Rocky Mountain range.

Capital city of Alberta.

Capital city of British Columbia.
Winnipeg
Capital city of Manitoba.
Fredericton
Capital city of New Brunswick.
St. John's
Capital city of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Human Geography
Focuses on the relationships between humans and the natural environment as well as between humans and the built environment like economics, population distribution and city planning.
Physical Geography
Focuses on understanding the processes and patterns in the natural environment like landforms, surface waters, climate and vegetation.
Manitoba
Home of the Golden Boy, the polar bear capital of the world (Churchill) and the Winnipeg Jets, this is one of the three prairie provinces in Western Canada.
Interior Plains Region
Includes most of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Agriculture is the most important industry as both grain farming (wheat, canola, flax) and ranching is done. Minerals resources found in the region include: oil, potash and natural gas.
Nova Scotia
One of the founding provinces of Canada home to the Bay of Fundy. Sidney Crosby was born here.
New Brunswick
One of the founding provinces of Canada located in Atlantic Canada. It is the only bilingual province in Canada.
Saskatchewan
One of the three prairie provinces in Western Canada it is known for agriculture and potash.
Quebec
The largest province in Canada was first settled by the French.
Canadian Shield Region
The largest region in Canada which has many small lakes and rivers and is abundant in natural resources such as the boreal forest and minerals.
Newfoundland & Labrador
The last province to join Canada, it consists of both an island and part of mainland Canada.
Alberta
The province which has most of Canada's oil, coal and natural gas.
Geography
The study of the earth and its features and the animals (including humans) that live there.
The North Region
This region has a very cold climate with permafrost (frozen soils). It is located about the treeline so only shrubs and grasses grow here.
Western Cordillera Region
This region is mostly located in B.C. and the Yukon. It is very mountainous with rich valleys and forests. Industries include fishing, foresty, orchards and mining.
Nunavut
This territory in northern Canada was created on April 1, 1999 and is governed solely by the Inuit.
Northwest Territories
This territory is home of Great Bear Lake and Great Slave Lake.
