Adonis

Adonis means "hansom" or "lord". His symbol is a shooting star. Adonis was the son of Myrrha and her father, Theias, the king of Assyria. He was an attractive infant and Aphrodite (the goddess of love) fell in love with him. Venus gave the baby to Persephone (goddess of the underworld) to keep him safe. Peresphone also fell n love with him and refused to give him to the goddess of love. Zeus divided this argument and let each goddess have him for several months out of the year.Adonis loved hunting. Hercule was leading an expedition to obtain the girdle of Hippolyte, (the queen of the Amazon witch he conquered and expelled them from their district. . Penthesilea led an army of Amazons to fight for Troy against the Greeks, but she was killed by Achilles, who later mourned her.The woman did not die out. They mated with normal men, kept the females, and gave the males back to there father. There has been many wars between the Amazon's and the Greeks. Apollo

Apollo means "God of truth and light". He was the son of Zues and Leto. He had a twin brother named Artemis. His symbol is a lyre witch is an instrument that he was talented at. Zeus was afraid that one of his sons would out thrown him so he swallowed Artemis. To protect Apollo, Leto found a floating island. He was to be kept safe on till he was old enough to defend himself. A few days after he was born, Hera sent the Serpent Python to kill Leto. Leto wanted to protect her child so she asked Hephaestus for a bow and arrow. Helios

Helios means "sun" in Greek. His symbol is a sun. He was the son of the Titans Hyperion and Theia. One day his son Phaeton, tried to ride his chariot because he wanted to be like his father. Pegasus

His father was Poseidon and his mother was the Gorgon Medusa. He was captured and tamed by the hero Bellerophon. He would help this hero in several wars and fights. Bellerophon kept on riding him on there way to Mount Olympus but Zues dismounted on the way there. Pegasus eventually made it to Olympus. The symbol is the pegasus symbol which symbolizes and means glory, and inspiration. Many companies such as pool companies, manufacturing companies, and etc are named after pegasus.

Icarus

Icarus means "Son of Daedalus" in Greek. His father was Daedalus. His symbol is a apostrophe. Deadulus made two sets of wings (one for his son and one for himself). Deadalus Made the wings out of wax and feathers. He taught Icarus not to fly to high (because the son would melt the wax) and not to fly to low(because the sea water would ruin the feathers). One day, Icarus forgot what his father taught him. He flew higher and higher until the wax melted and the feathers flew off and formed Icarus Island. Icrus is now under the name of several companies. Jason means "He that cures". His symbol is "Golden Fleece". He was the son of the king of Aeson and it's not certain who his mother was. Pelias (Jason's half uncle) killed all of Aeson's children for the thrown , but Jason was saved and sent away on till he reached adulthood. Aeson came back and asked Peilas for his father's thrown. Peilas said he would step down from the thrown if Jason gave him a golen fleece. Jason god a group of hero's and went through a long journey. He fell in love with a women named Creusa. Medea on the way. Jason finally got his fathers thrown with the help of Peleus(his friend). He is now an example of determination in today world. Medusa

Medusa means "Cunning. Numerology" in Greek. Her symbol is manly her snake hair. She was the daughter of Phorkys and Keto. She was a fiar lady who fell in love with Poseidon, forgot her vowels, and married him. She was punished by the goddess Athena. The goddess turned Medusa's hair into venomes snakes and er eyes turned in to dark orbs. Medusa then fled from her home to Africa. Whover she gazed upon, she would turn into stone. Olympians means "dwelling thereon" in Greek. Olympians where where any of the twelve Greek gods living in Olympic. They mostly came from different parents and have several stories .The Olympians are Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, and Dionysus. The Olympics(which is a competitive a game in today's society) came from this term.

Pandora

Pandora means "all gifts" in Greek. Her symbol is a jar. She was created by Hephaestus and Athena. Zeus wanted to punish Prometheus for steeling fire which he gave to humans. He asked Hephaestus to create a beautiful wife to give to Prometheus and Athena dressed her and taughet her how to weave,etc. Other gods contributed by giving her gifts and speeches with lies. She was given a jar filled with evil, pain, and numerous diseases. She held it as she was given to Prometheus. One day she was told not to open the jar but she was curious. The meaning of Narcissus is "Daffodil". His symbol is a specific flower. He was the son of the river god Cephissus and the nymph Liriope. He was a very handsome fellow. Narcissus rejected love and instead fell in love with his own reflection in the spring waters. Narcissus then killed himself and the flower was raised above the water when this happened. Achilles

The meaning of the name Achilles' is unknown but believed to come from a like term meaning "pain" or "Hero".His symbol is a shield. His Father was a mortal named Peleus. His mother was a sea goddess. His mother tried everything to make Achilles immortal. One day she asked a black smith to make him a shield to protect him. Achilles then grew up to be strong and handsome. He fought in many battles, got married, and then he said he would no longer fight on Agamemnon's behalf. Patroclus (Achilles' cousin) was then killed by Hector. Achilles strove for revenge and killed Hector. I believe that Achille's refers to a person's week spot, you find it when you hit there week spot or for Achille, his heel. He tried to seduce her, but she to ran away because of his ugly appearance. Followed by him, her sisters turned Syrinx into a reed. The name Cupid/Eros means "desire" in Greek. He was the son of Aphrodite. His symbol is now the bow and arrow. Eros had the power to make any human being to fall in love instantly with the first person they see when he shoots his arrow. Aphrodite was jealous of the beauty of mortal princess Psyche. She then told her son to make her fall in love with the ugliest creature on Earth. Instead, Eros fell for Psyche. The sister of Psyche got jealous and caused Psyche to betray Eros. She spent days on Earth wondering abut her lost love and came to Aphrodite for help. Aphrodite then gave her several tasks to complete. Demeter

The name Demeter means "Earth-lover" in Greek. Her symbols where mostly Cornucopia, sheaves of wheat, autumn harvest, torch, bread, honey, and acorns. She was the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She made the crops for each year and was associated with seasons. Her daughter was abducted by Hades (god of the underworld) to be his wife. Because her daughter ate a seed in the underworld, Hades had the claim on her. Zeus said that Persephone could spend several months out of the season with each god. In the winter time, Demeter graves for her daughter and punishes the Earth by keeping the harvest from growing, while in the spring she has it grow when he daughter is back. Dionysus

The name Dionysus means "God of wine and revelry" in Greek. His symbols are grapes, wine cups, and a pine cone. Dionysus was the son of Zeus and Semele. created wine and spread the art of viticulture. He was the only son of a god and a mortal. In the night, Zeus went to see Semele at night unseen by human eyes. Semele was happy that she had a god as a lover, but didn't know which one. After Dionysus was born, Semele made Zeus grant her a wish. She wished to see the true form of her lover. Zeus was disappointed in this wish, but he was madly in love. Zeus then showed her his true form and Dionysus burnt to crisp when Zeus's glory was in sight. Zeus managed to save him by stitching him into his thigh ready to be born. Hera found out, and got jealous (especially that Dionysus was still alive), so she ordered the Titans to kill Dionysus. They ripped him to pices, but , Rhea brought him back to life. The name Gaea means "The Earth" in Greek. She has no specific symbol but her symbols are mostly nature items. She was a primal Greek goddess which means she had no parents that birthed her. Uranus decided to stop Gaea from making anything else.He sent off hi children inside of her which make Gaea angry that her titan sons where against her. The name Hades means "unseen" in Greek. His symbol is the helmet of darkness. his father was Cronus.Hades was the brother of Zeus and Poseidon. The name Midas means ""mythical name" in Greek.He was a good companion of Dionysus. For his kind treatment of Silenus. Midas was rewarded with a wish. The king wished that all he touched turn to gold, but when his food turned into gold, and he nearly starved to death, he then realized the error. Dionysus then said that if he bathed in the Pactolus River, an action to which the presence of alluvial gold in that stream will be attributed. His symbol is manly a golden torch. The name Odysseus means "angry man" in Greek. His symbol is some what like a boat. He was the son of Laertes and Anticlea. Odysseus was one of the men that wanted to marry Helen, step-daughter of king Tyndareus of Sparta. However, there where many suieters and there wasn't a way to solved who the husband would be. Tyndareus agreed and Odysseus proposed to draw straws. Before that, though, he made everyone promise an oath that they would all support the husband and wife on any problem that they might face in the future. Perseus

The name Perseus means "to destroy" in Greek. His symbol is a chess. One day the Oracle of Apollo told Acrisius that Danae (his daughter) would have a son, and his son would kill him. Danae was then locked up in a room with no doors, but just one window. One day she saw a light. She knew it was a god but didn't know which one. The god then said that he was indeed a god and wished for Danae to be his wife. She then had a baby named Perseus. Acrisius saw the baby , put Danae and Perseus in a locked chest, and threw them out to see. They landed saftley at an Island. Throughout the story more things o on but eventually Perseus does end up killing Acrisius. Perseus is now the name of a manage storage businesses and other companies too.
