In the 1929 the industry and banks collapse and there is 25% unemployment. in 1930 the Hawley Smoot Tariff was created. the ecpnomy kept spiraling down.

It made people less afraid and it lasts until 1937. people lost faith bc of the roosevelt recession.

right- leave it alone. people didnt want national planning. left- wanted more involvement. huge programs where they were making the rich richer.

the address target banks and wanted to treat it like a war. it was in 1933

what was the problem with the banking system? how did FDR try and fix the problem?

the people lost trust in the banks and the banks lost. FDR starts the FDIC which is a backup incase banks fail.

Social Security Act of 1935

when you payed the government a little iof your money every packcheck to a big pool of money. When you retire you are able to draw from that pile of money. The money is supposed to be a supplement.
