How to use Quizlet

Réussis tes devoirs et examens dès maintenant avec Quizwiz!

So just to recap - which tool should I start with?

QUIZCARDS is great to start with. You can see what's on the cards and test your memory.

How do I practise writing?

Try LEARN and TEST. GRAVITY is fun if the information on the cards is concise.

Can I make my own cards to study other subjects of professional or personal interest?

Yes you can. The best way is to start your own Quizlet account. Put Quizlet flashcards in your browser and write your own sets. You can also invite other people to access your sets to study the same materials.

Who do I speak to if I have problems?

You can get me, David Shaw on 00 39 011 00 35253 and I'll do my best to help!

Should I use the audio?

You can, but be aware that the recognition tool may result in unreliable recordings of the material written on the cards. For this reason I would not recommend SPELLING.

What is Quizlet and how do I use it?

Quizlet is a system that helps you learn information and have fun at the same time. This tool creates a series of cards. One side of a card typically has a term or a question and the other side usually has a definition or an answer. Sometimes the first side of the card has part of a sentence and the other side has the concluding part. Select FLASHCARDS to learn and memorise terms and information. If someone has played this game before you you may need to select ORIGINAL to reset the cards. You can choose to see both sides of the card (Select BOTH SIDES from the options on the right-hand side of the screen). Or you can choose to see the TERM first or the DEFINITION first. You can then see if you can answer and check your answer by clicking on the card. To go to the next card click on the next card. LEARN is good for checking your memory and writing. Click on TERM FIRST and then write the content of the other side of the card. If you can't remember or you want writing practice Click on ANSWER. You then see the correct answer and can copy that in the answer box. IF you unclick the TERM FIRST box you are given the other side of the card - the DEFINITION (or the answer if the first card is a question.) Select TEST to check your learning. There are three types of question generated by the system. The first is writing like in the LEARN tool. There are also multiple choice and true-false sections. You can generate new tests by clicking on NEW TEST. SCATTER is good for revision and reading because you can see both sides of all the cards jumbled up. You drag one side of a card to its partner. Great fun with a time limit, so you can compete with yourself and with others. GRAVITY requires you to write very quickly and is great fun but less so when there is a lot of information on each card.

Which tool is best for reading?

SCATTER is good fun for assembling the complete content but CARDS also involves reading one card at a time. Reading is also involved in TEST.
