Rather than a grid of pixels, a vector graphic consists of shapes, curves, lines, and text which together make a picture. While a bitmap image contains information about the color of each pixel, a vector graphic contains instructions about where to place each of the components.
The Patch Tool works by:
Replacing the pixels in a "damaged" area of the image with pixels from the target area.

When we set up an InDesign document, sometimes it's with Facing Pages and sometimes not. Sometimes our margins are equal and sometimes not. Why?
Facing pages are used When the document will be read like a book and has "inside" and "outside" margins while non-facing pages have "left" and "right" margins. Margins separate the content from the edge of the page, framing and defining the type area of the page. Some books, especially ones with lots of elements like sidebars and illustrations, look more organized and interesting with uneven columns.
How to package an InDesign file
File--> Package--> Package--> Save to desktop
Sometimes we save our InDesign files with images linked, sometimes we embed them and sometimes we export the file to .pdf. How and Why?
First, when you embed your images you no longer have the benefit of automatically updating links, but if your graphic is stable and not going to change (like a logo), then it's really not a an issue. Second, embedding images makes your InDesign file significantly larger.
*You're working in InDesign and the images don't look as good as you know they should. What to do?
