Tyndall effect

The Tyndall effect, also known as Tyndall scattering, is light scattering by particles in a colloid or particles in a fine suspension. It is named after the 19th-century physicist John Tyndall.

Weathering

Weathering is the breaking down or dissolving of rocks and minerals on Earths surface. Water, ice, acids, salt, plants, animals, and changes in temperature are all agents of weathering. Once the rock has been broken down, a process called erosion transports the bits of rock and minerals away.

Sublimation

When anything solid turns into a gas without first becoming liquid, that's sublimation. When the surface layer of snow or ice turns into fog or steam without melting, this is an example of sublimation. The verb sublimation is from the Latin word sublimare, meaning "raised to a higher status."

Distillation

the action of purifying a liquid by a process of heating and cooling.
