anthropologist : anthropology :: science : scientist biology : biologist captain : ship artist : art

anthropoid : human :: asteroid : star anthropologist : culture homicide : victim audition : audience

asteroid : star is correct, because just like anthropoid and human are similar to each other, asteroid and star are similar. The other analogies relate an event to an object whereas this set like anthropoid to human, relate an object to an object.

autobiography : biography :: malediction : benediction automobile : horse cart audiophile : audience murder : suicide

automobile : horse cart is correct because it is an operation that is self performed vs. and external operation. A horse cart requires something else to move it, just like a biography requires something else to write it.

disbelief : belief is correct because the analogies represent the same subject matter. Incredulous is a disbelief, as cred means belief, and credulous is believing, just like the meaning of cred.

arthritis : tonsillitis :: arthropod : gastropod knuckle : throat disease : decay bibliophile : bibliolatry

neolithic : paleolithic :: stone : ceramics artifact : neon rock : rock new : old

new : old is correct, because both sets of analogies relate to time. The neolithic period is the later part of the Stone Age, or the newer part. The paleolithic period is the older part of the Stone Age, because it is the beginning of the Stone Age.

bibliophile : bibliophobia :: philanthropist : misanthropy laggard : dullard monarchy : belligerence : treaty

philanthropist : misanthropy is correct, because a bibliophile, someone who loves books, is similar to a philanthropist in that they like being generous to people. Bibliophobia is the fear and hatred of books just like misanthropy is the hate of people. This creates the relation of love and hate.

scribe : dictation :: reporter : report geologist : rock anthropologist : anthropoid captor : captive

reporter : report is correct, because not only do both subjects relate to the form of writing, but they also have similarities in the way they are written. The first part of the analogy is the person, so the scribe and the reporter. After it, is the action, so the dictation or the report.

word : man is correct, because philology is the science of words, and anthropology is the science of man, because anthropo means man.
