by 4 tendons, 1 to each finger; each tendon divides into 3 slips; the middle slip attaches to the dorsal surface of the middle phalanx and the other 2 unite to attach to the dorsal surface of the base base of the distal phalanx

extends and radially deviates the hand at the wrist

Action of the Extensor Digiti Minimi

extends proximal phalanx of the little finger at the metacarpophalangeal joint and assists in extension at the wrist; extends the middle and distal phalanges especially when the proximal phalanx is held in flexion

Action of the Extensor Digitorum

extends the phalanges at the interphalangeal joints; continued action extends the metacarpophalangeal and carpometacarpal articulations; assists in extending the wrist
