- "Extends Digits Longer" (toes) - Dorsiflexion - Anterior side ORIGIN: Lateral condyle of the tibia, proximal 3/4 of the anterior surface of the interosseous membrane and fibula INSERTION: Middle and distal phalanges of the lateral four digits ACTION: Extends the lateral four digits and dorsi flexes teh foot at the ankle

- "Extends Hallux Longer" (big toe) - Dorsiflexion - Anterior side ORIGIN: Middle part of the anterior surface of the fibula and interosseous membrane INSERTION: Dorsal aspect of the base of the distal phalanx of the great toe ACTION: Extends the great toe, dorsi flexes the foot at the ankle
Tibialis Anterior
- "Tibia Front Side" - Dorsiflexion - Anterior side ORIGIN: Lateral condyle, proximal half of the lateral tibia, interosseous membrane INSERTION: Medial plantar surfaces of the medial cuneiform and base of the 1st metatarsal ACTION: Dorsi flexes the foot at the ankle and inverts the foot
