First Frame of Government
1683, The framework of government in colonial Pennsylvania, it established a representative government and said that any land owning man could participate. It was an important early step towards establishing democracy in America.
Benjamin Franklin
1706- 1790 He was born in Boston but ran away to Philadelphia at age 17 and made it home. , Printer, author, inventor, diplomat, statesman, and Founding Father. One of the few Americans who was highly respected in Europe, primarily due to his discoveries in the field of electricity.

Henry Hudson
Sailed up the Delaware River; Hudson River and New York; Discovered what today is known as the Hudson River. Sailed for the Dutch even though he was originally from England. He was looking for a northwest passage through North America.

These were based on Quaker beliefs; Penn's set of laws to rule his colony. Includes no work on Sundays and to provide care for poor people and orphans
