during physical activity, your muscles use up the oxygen you breathe faster then your lungs can replace it. the build up of lactic fermentation is why you might feel sore after you excersising.

when an animal eats the roots, fruits, leaves, and stems of a plant, the stored energy is released for use though respiration

Why is alcoholic fermentation important to bakers and brewers?

bakers: because yeast fermenting in dough causes it to rise. brewers: because fermentation makes the alcohol and carbon dioxide that makes beverages alcoholic and bubbly.

in the mitochondria: small molecules are broken down even more into smaller molecules. a chemical reaction takes place that turns the oxygen and sugar into carbon dioxide and water as well as releases a big amount of energy
