Scale Drawings and Models
Scale Drawing or Scale Models
SCALE DRAWING is a diagram of an object in which the dimensions are in proportion to the actual dimensions the object. This diagram or drawing is similar in scale (or proportion) to the actual object or place. Floor plans, blueprints, and maps are all examples of scale drawings.
Scale Factor
SCALE FACTOR is the ratio of any two corresponding lengths in two similar geometric figures. Scale factor between zero and one means that the model is SMALLER than the actual object. Scale factor greater than one means that the model is LARGER than the actual object.
Scale
SCALE is a proportion between two sets of dimensions used in developing accurate, larger or smaller prototypes, or models of design ideas. Scales and scale factors are ALWAYS written so that the DRAWING LENGTH comes FIRST in the ratio.
