Described how carbonic acid is formed?

carbonic acid is a weak acid thats formed from the reaction of carbon dioxide dissolved in water.

What do oxidation and hydrolysis have in common in relation to the weathering process?

Hydrolysis is the chemical breakdown of a substance when combined with water. Oxidation is the reaction of a substance with oxygen. They are both chemical weathering examples.

What unique feature does water exhibit in response to temperature changes?

If the temperature goes up, or heats up, then water can turn into vapor. If the temperature goes down,or cools down, then water can freeze into shapes. If this frozen water heats up again it will turn into liquid again.

Name one reason why precipitation today is more acidic than precipitation in the 1800s.

There was a widespread use of fossil fuel. Examples are coal and oil burning power plants. This sulfer dioxide and carbon dioxide can compine with water vaopr to form carbonic acid which leads to acid rain.

how does the use of a wind barrier reduce erosion on a farm?

A wind barrier is usually a row of trees planted on the edge of a farm. This reduces erosion in two ways. The trees serve an additional purpose to prevent erosion due to the fact that their roots help to anchor the soil, thus preventing it to blow away.

what role does acid precipitation play in the weathering process?

Acid precipitation aids chemical weathering. Some rocks can be dissolved by the weakest of acids which acid precipitation provides.

How do glaciers both remove and build up Earths surface?

The glacier can gouge out large expanses of land. It can drastically reshape the landscape over hundreds or even thousand of years. The ice erodes the land surface and carries the broken rocks and soil debrus far form their original places, resulting in interesting glacial landforms. New land can also be created by the glacier pushing up land and boulders into moutains/hills

Compare the rate of soil formation to the average human lifespan.

it takes 500 years to form an inch of top soil. Considering a 60 year old lifespan, .12 inches with be formed.
