Measuring Volume of Liquids
Use a graduated cylinder which measured (mL) millimeters. The liquid will have a curved surface known as the meniscus. Read the bottom of the curve for the measurment.

How could the volume (expressed in cubic units) of a gold nugget be found using water and a graduated cylinder?
Using the water displacement project = By putting the gold nugget into the water of a graduated cylinder the nugget will cause the water to rise. The amount the water rises (displaced by the object) is equal to the objects volume. Lets say that the nugget displaces 15 mL of water. Since 1 mL = 1 cm³, the volume of the nugget is 15 cm³
