If a group of species is able to adapt, it will have a higher chance of survival if a drastic event that changes their environment occurs. Yet if this only happened to one individual, then, the entire group would not benefit because they would not be unable to evolve if it could not apply to the entire species when only one survives, leaving an endangered species.

Can a theory change over time?

Yes, a theory can change overtime. The reason that a theory can change over time is because throughout an experiment you are always receiving new info, causing new testing, hypothesis, and observations. And when we receive new info we have to update all of our data including our theories.
