What happens in the last part of the first day's hunt? What does the lord give Gawain when he returns home? What does Gawain give the lord? What do they agree on for the second day?

After the first day's hunt, the Lord killed many deer at once, picked out the origins, chopped off the head, skinned the animals, and sliced-up the bodies (1320-1361). The Lord gave Gawain the flesh from the deer's ribs and Gawain gave a kiss to the lord as the lady gave Gawain (1872-1878). Both men agree to make the same bargain the second day, and exchange their winnings in the morning (1405-1406).

What does the lady give Gawain during her visit? What does the lady ask for as she leaves? What can Gawain give her? Why doesn't he accept the ring from him? What object does he accept from her? Why does he accept it? What does it look like? (Should line 1832 remind you of anything?)

After the previous event, the lady comes to Gawain and comforts him and kisses him three times(1745-1750). The lady tries to get closer to Gawain, but Gawain rejects her, fearing this event would be a betrayal to the Lord and his court (1776-1840). The lady then gives Gawain a gold ring, but he refuses.

What happens to Gawain the third day?

Gawain has a nightmare about the Green Knight, however, he is awoken by the lady of the castle (1745-1776).

What does Gawain do differently after the lady leaves? What should Gawain have included in his confession that he probably didn't because it was only planned at that point but hadn't actually occurred?

Gawain hid the love-gift that the lady had left him, quickly got dressed, and went to the chapel to confess his sins to God (1870-1880). Gawain should have included himself lying to the Lord about his gains/awards that day (1880-1885).

What happens to Gawain while he is still in bed? What does he pretend to do? What happens when he finally "wakes up"? What metaphor do the lady and Gawain use in lines 1210...? What does the lady seem to have in mind? How does Gawain respond? Why, as the lady is leaving, does she say "But our guest is not Gawain" (line 1293)? What does she give Gawain?

Gawain is woken by the Lord's wife(1208-1210). Gawain pretends to be asleep, and when he finally "awakes", the Lord's wife and Gawain have a flirty conversation (1208-1309). The metaphor shows that the lady acts as if she has "caught him" and he acts as her "captive". This statement explains the lady's disappointment in Gawain when he did not "wake up" when she entered the room (1208-1210). The lady believes Gawain is fake because she believes no man can be so selfless and humble, that he is not willing to kiss her. After this event, she kisses Gawain (1290-1306).

What happens to Gawain the second day? How does he respond differently this time? Why does the lady complain? What does she ask him to do (lines 1533-1534)? What is suggested by the narrator's comments in lines 1549-1551? What does the lady give him?

Gawain responds differently to being awaken by the Lord's wife on the second day, along with the lady returning with two kisses (1490-1505). The Lady tells Gawain to take advantage for her beauty while the Lord is out hunting (1508-1525).However, Gawain Remained noble and chose not to take advantage of her, even though she threw herself at him (1508-1557).

What happens in the last part of the second day's hunt? What does the lord give Gawain when he returns home? What does Gawain give the lord? What do they agree on for the third day? What is bothering Gawain? (See lines 1657-1663.)

The Lord cut out the meat in slabs and removed the edible guts from the boar (1611-1612). The Lord gave Gawain the head of the boar (1633-1635). Gawain gave the Lord praise, admiration, and respect for managing to kill such a huge beast with his bear hands (1629-1634). Both men agreed for Gawain to stay one more day with the Lord and his people, in order to prove himself worthy, while the Lord goes hunting for more animals to please Gawain (1670-1680).

The Lord hunted a deer on the first day (1126-1172).

What animal does the lord hunt the third day?

The Lord hunts a fox the third day (1690-1699).

What happens in the last part of the third day's hunt? What color is "Sir Reynard" the fox, and how is he treated? Does his color remind you of anything?

The Lord on the third day, the Lord brings back a fox (1940-1950). The color of the fox is compared to "the devils" (1944) and the fox is treated harshly by being caught by a sharp sword and bloodhounds (1905-1945).

What happens differently when the lord returns home on the third day? Why? Does Gawain meet the terms of his oath? How well does Gawain sleep that night? Why?

when the Lord returns home on the third day, he is hard on himself and describes how he tried hunting for hours and was only able to catch a fox (1935-1950). Gawain, in return, gives the lord three kisses and does not mention a word about the lady's gift. On the last night, Gawain barely sleeps (1975-1997).
