Then Scylla ate six of his men and they continue on and reach thrinacia (home of helios' cattle) and the men do not listen to Odysseus' order to not eat the cattle and so Zeus sends a lightning bolt down to earth to sink their ship and Odysseus alone survives and goes to calypsos Island

odysseus and his men go to the underworld to talk to tiresias. first they make a sacrifice and see elpenor and anticlea. then tiresias comes and tells the prophecy to odysseus: poseidon will try and get revenge for his son polyphemus and odysseus will have to go down a strait with Helios's cattle and they should not be bothered. and then when he gets home he will be the only one that makes it home alive and then he will have to kill his wife's suitors and then travel to a place with no sea to make a sacrifice to poseidon and then to each other god when he gets home

odysseus and his men stayed with king aeolus and upon departure, he gave them good wind to lead their ship and stormy weather in a bag. They open the stormy weather that leads him back to the king who refuses to help them again. They set sail to first the laestrygones Who killed many of their man and then to Aeaea. there Eurylochus takes half the man to explore the island and Circe turns all but him into swine. After Odysseus hears the news he goes back to Circe's palace with moly from Hermes and asks to release his men and she does so but then puts them in a trance for a year and the only way to release them is to go to the land of the dead and get a prophecy from Tiresias
