How were the experiances of the Pilgrims similar to those of the first Jamestown?

The experiances of the first colonists of Jamestown and the later colonists were similar in a way because they both had diseases among the colony right away. They were also similar because both of the colonies had trouble growing crops right away until they got help from the Indians.

Why did the Pilgrims move from England to the Netherlands? Why did they then decide to move to America?

The Pilgrims moved from England to the Netherlands because they wanted to be able to practice their own religion. And the Church of England was not allowing them to do so. However, they then moved to America because their children were learning the Dutch language and culture and forgetting their English traditions. They also were mostly limited to unskilled work, which made them unhappy.

How were the Pilgrims able to survive their first year in Plymouth, and what was the colony like once it was more established?

The Pilgrims were able to survive their first year in Plymouth because they had help from Squanto, who taught the Pilgrims how to grow their crops and how to find the best fishing spots. Also, they survived because they made friends with some of the Indian tribes who helped them. Once the colony was more established, it became a lot better colony because it had more food like corn and other crops, and because they were now able to trade with other Indian tribes because they had extra corn and beaver furs.
