DSLAM

A DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) is a network device, usually at a telephone company central office, that receives signals from multiple customer Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connections and puts the signals on a high-speed backbone line using multiplexing techniques.

Transponder

A communications satellite's transponder is the series of interconnected units that form a communications channel between the receiving and the transmitting antennas. It is mainly used in satellite communication to transfer the received signals. Each has own frequency.

Azimuth

Azimuth refers to the rotation of the whole antenna around a vertical axis. It is the side to side angle. Typically you loosen the main mount bracket and swing the whole dish all the way around in a 360 deg circle. By definition North is 0 deg, East is 90 deg, South is 180 deg and west is 270 deg.

Release MAC address

Click on Find VSAT. Populate CPA Or VSAT ID and search. Expand the Group column to find what subfolder to find the VSAT. Open VSAT View and find the site in the folder to release the MAC.

Commands>Access II. Left click on Set installation mode and then click yes on pop up window. The recalibration will boot the VSAT down and up. You then need to go to inbound link info to monitor the calibration process.

Commands>Access II>CW on. Enter CW frequency that matches the site satellite and IDU type. Enter Duration 1800. Check Max Power. Attenuation to 0. Left click execute button and say yes to approve CW signal. Turn off CW signal when done.

Receiving device mounted on satellite dishes used for satellite reception which collects the radio waves from the dish. It receives the microwave signal from the satellite collected by the dish, amplifies it, and down converts the block of frequencies to a lower block of intermediate frequencies (IF).

Saturation search state - complete good 1db. Once saturation calibration completed good check Current Es/No and Current Margin until Sat Point. Need to be as high as possible with 8 being the passing value.

Carrier Wave CW test from NMS

The frequency to use for CW is 1308100 which is the center frequency. 2 other possible frequencies are 1308050 1/2 grid to left of center and 1308150 which will come up 1/2 grid to the right of center. This gives us 3 frequencies we can use and if not will interfere with VACS.
