Who do you personally consider to be heroic?

I personally consider my mom, dad, and grandpa to be heroic.

Definition

I personally think that a hero is someone who isn't afraid of doing something usually others wouldn't, but that also doesn't mean a hero has to do something "big" for others. It could be something simple such as putting a smile on someone's face or making their day a bit better. It can be small but it's the kindness and thought that counts.

Real world connections

I read an article about a community that came together to find a lost toddler and pet dog in the Wisconsin woods on August 9, 2020. Hundreds of local residents came together bringing food, water, and other supplies. They all went searching in different directions. After searching for a day, they found the little girl and the coordinator of Sawyer county was surprised and thankful to the hundreds of people who had came to help find her. Those people were all heroes.

Who do you personally consider to be a hero in your life and why? Who do you look up to? Pick one person or a specific group of people and explain why you consider them to be heroic or fit the definition of a hero

In my life, my heroes are my mom and dad. They work very hard and do many things to help me and my brother have a good future and always think of us. I look up to both of them. They fit my definition of heroes because they constantly put smiles on mine and many people's faces.

What groups/people does society consider to be heroes?

Little kids think that heroes are those people you see in the movies. As for society, it's someone who does something really big and a person that protects other people from bad people/enemies

Why do you think we as a society enjoy telling/hearing stories about heroes? What is so compelling about the journey of a hero? Think about any folk/fairy tales, movies, comics, TV shows, etc

We as a society like to listen to stories about heroes because they are inspirational, funny, and entertaining. One of the things that is very compelling about their journeys is all their hardships they face on their way to do that certain thing at the end. When it comes to heroes, I always think about the marvel movies.
