Motif
Definition: A theme or idea in a work of art or literature that is developed or repeated. Examples: concept, logo, structure. Non-examples: misconception, conception, divide. Example sentence: The motif of live is to be happy and live it to the fullest of your ability.
Injunction
Definition: An order or command. Examples: command, order, ruling. Non-examples: appeal, proposal, recommendation. Example sentence: The stop sign is an injunction ordering you to stop.
Moribund
Definition: Close to death; in a dying state. Examples: perishing, passing, going. Non-examples: living, thriving, spirited. Example sentence: The skunk was moribund for death as it got shot by a raffle gun.
Expostulate
Definition: To argue earnestly in an attempt to dissuade or show strong disapproval. Examples: oppose, dissuade, remonstrate. Non-examples: agree, allow, grant. Example sentence: I tried to expostulate the fact the iPhones are better than androids.
Belittle
Definition: To present or speak of as unimportant or of little value. Examples: downgrade, lower, underrate. Non-examples: compliment, praise, approve. Example sentence: The king would belittle his people for no reason.
