Explain the meaning and types of Shaitan?

The word Shaytan is derived from the root word (شطن) and شاطن means' impure and base'. 1-Shaitan refers to a rebellious entity - irrespective of whether it is humans, jinn, or animals. It is also said to mean 'a nefarious (evil)soul, who is distanced from Allah (SWT) and Truth'; Surah Al-'An'am, Verse 6:112. "And thus did We assign for every prophet an enemy, the satans from humans and jinn, who (secretly) inspire each other with flashy words to deceive (them). And had your Lord pleased, they would not have done it. (Allah's way of treatment is freedom of men) therefore, leave them with what they forge." 2-Shaitan is a 'common noun', whereas Iblis is a 'proper noun.' In other words, every harmful, deviating, and rebellious entity - human or otherwise - is referred to as Shaitan. Iblis is the name of that Shaytan, who deceived Adam and even presently, together with his soldiers and forces, lies in the humans' ambush. So that Iblis has also been referred to as Shaytan because of the evilness and corruption within him. 3-In Qur'an, Shaytan is used to denote a harmful being - one who has deviated from the right path and has embarked upon a mission of distressing others; an entity that attempts to create division, discord, and corruption, just as we recite: Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 5:91. "Certainly, Satan desires to cast enmity and hatred among you by wine and gambling and to hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and prayer. So will you stop?" . The word يُرِيدُ denotes 'continuity,' indicating that this 'desire' is a continuous and perpetual desire of the Shaitan. 4-In addition to this, the word Shaytan has been used to refer to microbes(germs) too: For example, 1-Imam Ali (a.s.) has said: "Do not drink water from the broken portion of the vessel nor the portion of the handle; for sure, the Shaytan sits upon the handle and the broken portion." 3 2-Imam as-Sadiq (a.s.) has also said: "(Water) should not be drunk from the handle (side) of a jug and nor from the broken portion of it, if present, for these are the drinking-place of the 'Shaitans.'" 4 3-The Noble Prophet (S) has said: "Do not lengthen (the hair of) your mustaches, for the Shaitan, makes it a haven for himself and conceals himself there!" 5 Thus, it becomes clear that one of the meanings of Shaytan is 'harmful microbes.' Nevertheless, this does not mean that it possesses this meaning on all occasions and in all instances. Instead, it means that Shaytan has several implications, one of the most obvious of them being 'Iblis and his assistants'; another being' corrupt humans'; while at times it is also employed to refer to 'harmful bacteria.' 6 3.al-Kafi, vol. 6, Kitab al-Ati'mah wa al-Ashribah, Chapter Bab al-Awani. 4.Ibid. 5.Ibid. 6.Tafsir-e-Namuna, vol. 1, pg. 191 ‹ 6. Explain the Etymology(the origin of a word)اخذ of Shaitan ? Explain the difference between Shaitan and Jinn?

We begin our discussion by analyzing the words "shaitan" and "jinn" and then investigating Satan's power limits. "Shaitan" means "banished" or "mischievous(disobedient)."" In its singular form, "shaitan" has been used 71 times in the Qur'an and in its plural form, 18 times. Both the Qur'an and ahadith indicate that Shaitan is one of the jinns. "Shaitan" is a common noun that denotes any mischievous creature, misleading, and delinquent, whether it be human or not. "Iblis" is a proper noun and is the 'Arabic name of the particular Shaitan who deceived Adam and Eve (ع) and even now lays in wait for any opportunity to deceive the sons of Adam.

Can Shaitan harm anyone? Explain in the light of the Quran?

one must always remember Him and trust Him and seek sanctuary(protection) in Him. By establishing such a relationship with Allah (SWT), one can inoculate(treat) himself against all harm. As the Qur'an says, Surah Mujadila - Verse 10. Secret counsels are only from Satan in order that he may cause grief to the believers. But he cannot harm them in the least, except as Allah permits. Therefore, let the believers put their trust in Allah. We are also warned about human beings and jinn who are evil (literally, who are "satans"), as one author states: "Never incline towards them. Satan is the sworn enemy of Allah and man. He has taken a solemn oath to misguide you. However, his power over you is limited to whispered temptation, and he can never negate your free will. The source of evil thoughts is in the human soul itself (al-nafs al-'ammarah). This aspect of the soul is the Achilles' heel (An Achilles heel is a weakness despite overall strength, which can lead to downfall.)of the human being through which Satan acts. Allah (SWT) has said, .Surat Qaf (50), Verse 16: وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإِنْسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ "We created man, and we know the temptations of his soul; we are closer to him than his jugular vein.8 اور ہم نے ہی انسان کو پیدا کیا ہے اور ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ اس کا نفس کیا کیا وسوسے پیدا کرتا ہے اور ہم اس سے رگ گردن سے زیادہ قریب ہیں. He also said, Surat al-Hijr (15), Verse 42: إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَانٌ إِلاَّ مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ "Indeed as for My servants you do not have any authority over them, except the perverse who follow you."9 میرے بندوں پر تیرا کوئی اختیار نہیں ہے علاوہ ان کے جو گمراہوں میں سے تیری پیروی کرنے لگیں.

What does "Nas" mean?

"Nas" means Mankind.

What is the meaning of Raab in verse 1 ? 1. "Say: I take refuge with the Lord of Mankind," اے رسول کہہ دیجئے کہ میں انسانوں کے پروردگار کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں

Raab means protector and nourisher. Our parents protects us when we are children, then the community and government usually help to protect us. However, Allah is the ultimate protector, ultimate nourisher, and ultimate guidance in all affairs of life. He is the Lord that we are in need of for every difficult situation. In the Qur'an, this term Raab has been used for God 963 times. This shows the utmost importance of this quality of God. The only word that is used more frequently to denote God in the Qur'an is Allah.

Who will get the complete protection of Allah(SWT)?

The objective of 'taking refuge with Allah' is not that a person says this Surah merely with his tongue, but he should accomplish it with his thoughts, Faith, and actions. He should avoid devilish routes, devilish programs, devilish minds, and communications, and devilish societies and meetings; and travel the divine paths; otherwise, the person who follows those devilish ways and lets himself fall into the hands of those temptations cannot be safe by only reciting this Surah.

Explain abandoning the better or tark al-awlā ?

Abandoning the better or tark al-awlā (Arabic: تَرْک الأوْلی) is to do something good and abandon what is better to do. (unfavorable act). Shiite scholars do not take "abandoning the better" as a sin, and thus, they hold that prophets and Imams (a) might sometimes abandon the better. They maintain that in cases in which prophets and Imams (a) practiced istighfar (asking God for forgiveness), they did so because they had abandoned the better. In some verses of the Qur'an, some mistakes are attributed to some prophets. since prophets are infallible; such mistakes are not sins from the standpoint of jurisprudence, rather they are "abandoning the better" (tark al-awla), that is, they just abandoned what the better action to do is. Shia Muslims do not believe that Hazrat Adam(as) and Bibi Hawa (as) committed a 'sin'. They argue that Adam was a prophet, and prophets do not sin. Furthermore, Adam was eating from the tree before he was sent to the earth [where concepts like Permissible & Forbidden (halal & haram) are only applicable and possible on Earth and not in Heaven].

What did Allah(SWT) tell Adam to avoid in Jannah? Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 19. "And O' Adam! dwell you and your spouse in the Garden, and eat you two from wherever you two desire, but do not approach this tree lest you will be of the unjust."

What did Adam perform once informed of the domination of Satan?6/16-------------------------------

As soon as Adam was informed of the domination of Satan, he invoked Allah. Then he was addressed (by Him) not to be worried, because He will count a sin one fold and a good deed ten folds.

Who will descend on the straight path- Sirat al-Mustaqim of Allah(SWT)?

At any moment it is possible that one may go astray, and when Allah bids His Apostle to take refuge with the Lord from the evil of the 'slinking whisperer', it is an evidence that becoming involved in the trap of the tempters, who whisper evil in people's minds, is possible. So, everyone must seek refuge to Allah, with His name /rabb/, i.e., the Lord of Man, i.e., the Cherisher and Sustainer. By invoking this great attribute, Man can be hopeful and expect an especially particular retreat. Everyone should seek refuge with Allah as their King and Owner, invoking His authority over the affairs of Man, i.e., He is the One Who can independently act over His creation to seek the protection by invoking the divinity of the Lord as the God of Mankind, for it is His authority which must necessarily be obeyed, i.e., it is His command or His Will which is always done. Therefore, against the evil of these whisperers, there are heavenly angels, for the believing servants of Allah and seekers of Truth, to come to help them; as Surah Fussilat, No. 41, Verse 30 says: إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا بِالْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي كُنْتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ "In the case of those who say: 'Our Lord is Allah', and further, stand straight and steadfast, the angels descend on them (from time to time)..." But, in any case, we should never be proud and feel that we are not in need of the Divine lessons, admonishments and assistance. We should always take refuge with Him and be aware and prepared.

What did Shaitan ask for after being banished from Allah's(SWT) throne (SWT)? 14. "(Instead of repentance, Iblis) said: 'Respite me until the day when they are raised up." 15. "He (Allah) said: 'Verily you shall be of the respited ones."

But the story of Satan did not conclude to that only happening. When he found that he was banished from the throne of Allah, he increased his rebellion and obstinacy. Instead of repentance, returning toward Allah, and confessing his fault, the only thing Iblis asked for from Allah was that he desired to be respited until the day when all will be raised up. This demand of Satan was somehow accepted by Allah when He (S.w.T.) said that he would be of the respited ones(grant a delay or extension of time to; a reprieve from death or execution.).

Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 18. "Said He: 'Get out from this (state), despised, driven away. Whoever of them will follow you, I will surely fill Hell with you all

By this verse, once more, the command of dismissing Satan from the position of nearness to Allah and the rank of highness is issued. But, here, there is a difference that the order of his dismissal has been issued with a more intensive despise. Perhaps this was for Satan's stubbornness later when he insisted on the temptation upon humankind and increased a greater sin to his former sins. Allah made an oath that whoever of them follows Satan He will fill Hell with him and them all. All these despises and falls are spread upon the proud Satan, since, instead of apology, he decided to lead astray humankind.

How Charity averts death, explained by Prophet Muhammad(S)?

Charity averts death! Allamah Hilli relates in some of his books that the Holy Prophet (S) once passed by a Jew who was going to chop some wood. On seeing him, the Prophet said that the Jew would be bitten by a poisonous snake and die. The companions saw the Jew in the evening and found it strange that he was still alive, contrary to what the Prophet (S) had predicted. So they questioned the Holy Prophet (S) about his predictions. The Prophet (S) asked for the Jew to be presented to him to be questioned. When the Jew came, the Prophet asked him to open the bundle of chopped wood, and out popped a snake. Then, the Holy Prophet (S) asked the Jew what act he had done on that day. In reply, the Jew answered that he had not done anything in particular except that as he was eating some food, a beggar asked him for some of it, so he gave one of the two cakes he had without any hesitation to the beggar. The Prophet then said that the Jew had been destined to die, but for the charity, he had given, removed seventy evils. The Jew accepted Islam. Indeed charity increases your good deeds and your life. 7 https://www.al-islam.org/beauty-charity-ahmed-ali-al-kuwaity/charity-removes-evil-disasters-sickness-and-unfortunate

What happened to Sania, the hairdresser of Farhuon's daughter?

During Mi'raj the Prophet (S) smelled a pleasant smell like that of musk and when he (S) questioned about it to angel Jibreel(as), he answered that it is the smell of Sania, who was the hairdresser of Pharaoh's adopted daughter . She used to comb the hair of Pharaoh's daughter. One day while combing her hair, she dropped the brush and unconsciously said Bismillah. The daughter realized that she was a monotheist and a worshiper of Musa and Haroon's God. Pharaoh came and said that he was the raab , king, and the God. However, the hairdresser rejected that, and Farhuon ordered that she and her children would be burned alive. Right before she and her infant son were about to be burned, she was going to give up, but then her infant son spoke to her at that moment and asked her to remain calm and steady in her faith. Sania scraficed her children and her life at the cause of Allah(swt).Due to her great eemaan Allah(swt) had elevated her position. Also our Sixth Imam (as) mentioned that she will be in the army of our twelve Imam (as).

The one whose present Allah accepted would succeed Hazrat Adam (as). Allah chose Habil's present because Habil had taken a lot of time and trouble to choose his present. Qabil was very upset and angry. He was so angry that Shaitan tempted Qabil to kill his brother. Afterwards, when Qabil realized what he had done, he cried and cried, but it was too late.

What is the specific meaning of Raab in this ayat? Say: "O my Lord! have compassion on them, as they brought me up (when I was) a child.""

In Surah Al-Isra', ayat 24, Raab-e-anni refers to parents who are the protectors and nourishers of children when they are entirely dependent. Raab (رَب): In Arabic, the term raab means lord. It is mostly used for God, but it may also be used to mean master, guardian, or owner.

What is the meaning the term Malik -مَلِكِ in verse 2? مَلِكِ النَّاسِ "The King of Mankind,"

In Verse 2, the term Malik -مَلِكِ means the King of Mankind. It explains that humankind should always recognize that Allah(SWT) is the most powerful King over mankind. Therefore, one should never forget the need for Allah's(SWT) support. One should be an obedient servant who seeks refuge in Him, who is King(Malik) of Mankind.

What does the term بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ-Lord of Mankind of verse 1? 1. "Say: I take refuge with the Lord of Mankind,"

In Verse one,بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ-Lord of Mankind means that Human beings should admit to Allah(SWT) that Shaitan is a difficult enemy. Therefore, he is in need of Allah's (SWT) guidance and therefore he seeks refuge in Him(SWT) ,who is the Lord (Raab) of Mankind.

What did Adam and Eve rebuke after their dismal from Jannah Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 23. "They said: 'Our Lord! We have been unjust to ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have (not) mercy on us, we shall certainly be of the losers '." ا

In answer to the reprimand of Allah, they both said that they were unjust to themselves. The objective meaning of 'being unjust' is that they abandoned performing a recommendable act and, therefore, were deprived of its compensation. The purpose of their statement may be that as a result of coming down on the ground and being deprived of that peaceful and blissful life, they incurred unjustly to themselves. They invocated Allah that if He did not cover their blemish and did not have mercy on them, and did not bestow His grace and His other favors through endowing His blessings and some other rewards upon them, they would be from those people who do not enjoy and benefit of their lives. Whenever a person causes a loss unto himself, or does not ward off a damage from himself, he has been unjust to himself, without being worthy of bearing retribution.

What is the name of iblis before he was expelled from heaven?----

In many Islamic and Islam-related traditions, Azazil (Arabic: عزازيل Azāzīl, also known as Arabic: حارث Ḥārith ) is the name of Iblis before he was expelled from heaven.

What is the meaning of Shaitan's attack to one from all four directions? Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 17. "Then I will certainly come upon them from before them, and from behind them, and from their right and from their left; and You will not find most of them thankful."

In order to confirm and to complete his statement, Satan added that, not only he will lay wait on their way, but also he will come upon them from the sides of four directions to deceive them. In a tradition, it is narrated from Imam Baqir (as) who, deeply commenting upon the four directions, said: 1-"The purpose of coming 'from before' is that Satan shows the coming world, which man has in front of him, simple and hollow to him(Satan). 2-The purpose of 'from behind' is that he (Satan) invites people to gathering properties and massing wealth, and to niggardliness concerning the payment of the compulsory alms to be abandon in favor of children ad inheritors. 3-The purpose of ' the right side' is that he spoils the spiritual affairs in man's view by creating doubts and dubious things. 4-And, the purpose of ' the left side' is to pretend the material pleasures and lusts beautiful in the view of man." نفس کی پیروی- مادی خوشیوں اور آرائشوں کا دکھاوا and You will not find most of them thankful." 5-Satan claimed his success because most of us are not thankful to Allah(SWT). 1.Majma'-ul-Bayan, Vol. 4, P. 403, - Tafsir-ul-Burhan, tradition. How Islam affirms the presence of the jinn?

In philosophical terms, Satan's immateriality is not complete. He cannot reach the righteous souls, but he can distract such human beings. People have invented several myths about jinn that do not make logical sense. However, the fundamental belief in their existence is rational. In particular, we have no reason to believe that living beings are limited to those things we can perceive. Islam affirms the presence of the jinn but rejects the fantastic tales surrounding them. Also, the ahadith indicate that invisible beings are more in number than perceptible ones: It is for this reason that one chapter of the Qur'an specifically addresses the topic of the jinn i.e, Surah Jinn.

What does 'Should not worship Shaitan" in ayat 62 of surah 36, Surah Yaseen, mean? 36:60. "Did I not make covenant(promise) with you, O' children of Adam, that you should not serve(worship) the Satan, verily he is a manifest foe(open enemy) to you" اولاد آدم کیا ہم نے تم سے اس بات کا عہد نہیں لیا تھا کہ خبردار شیطان کی عبادت نہ کرنا کہ وہ تمہارا کِھلا ہوا دشمن ہے.

In surah Yaseen ayat 60 ,Allah (swt) is saying to Mankind that they should not worship or serve Shaitan. Here it means that your acts of sincerity and respect ,or your acts of insincerity and disrespect, show and highlight who you are serving as your true Lord.

In the dualistic religion of pre-Islamic Iran,Who was thought to be the creator of all evil?

In the dualistic religion of pre-Islamic Iran, Ahriman was thought to be the creator of all evil. Ahriman is the evil spirit in Early Iranian Religion, Zoroastrianism, and Zorvanism, Lord of Darkness and Chaos, and the source of human confusion, disappointment, and strife. Some may think Shaitan in the Qur'an is the counterpart of Ahriman of ancient Iran. This is a mistaken belief since Satan had no role to play in creation whatsoever. Allah (SWT) created everything, and no other being besides Allah (SWT) can create independently. In the Qur'an, Allah (SWT) derogates such beliefs when he says, "They make the jinn partners of Allah (SWT), when He has created them, and they carve sons and daughters for Him without any knowledge." 3 Surah Al-'An'am, Verse 100. "And they set up the jinn associates(partners) with Allah, while He created them, and they falsely attributed to Him sons and daughters without knowledge, Glory be to Him, and highly Exalted is He above what they ascribe (to Him)."

What does the terms suduri-صُدُورِ and 'waswas'-وَسْوِسُ , in fifth verse 5? 5. "Who whispers evil into the hearts of Mankind," .

In the fifth verse, suduri (صُدُورِ) means Shaitan constantly and eventually gains control over the heart and mind. It is said that there are sources which feed the 'waswas'- i.e, whispers,, which Shaitan uses to accomplish his mission. Some of these sources are: greed, unrealistic expectations, pride, stinginess, love of the world...

What does Allah (SWT) emphasizes in first 3 ayats of this Surah?? 1-Say: I take refuge with the Lord of Mankind, "The King of Mankind," جو تمام لوگوں کا مالک ہے 3-إِلَهِ النَّاسِ "The God of Mankind," لوگوں کے معبود کی

In this surah, Allah emphasizes the term "refuges in" for the first 3 ayats. The term refuge in means a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble. In this surah, the first three ayats refer to humans taking refuge in Allah through attributes: 1-Lord of Mankind 2-King of Mankind 3- God of Mankind It is interesting that, here three attributes of the magnificent attributes of Allah; Lordship, Ownership, and Divinity, are emphasized, all of which are directly concerned with the training of Man, and his rescue from the grips of the tempters. In fact, these three attributes are three important lessons of instruction and three means of rescue from the evil of temptations which keep Man safe.

What did Imam Sadiq(a.s) said about the main reasons of infidelityگناہ and disobedience?

It is also narrated in Usul-i-Kafi from Imam Sadiq (as) who has said: "The principals of infidelityگناہ and disobedience are three things: greed, pride, and jealousy. Greed caused Adam to eat from the forbidden tree; pride caused Iblis to disobey the command of Allah when he was ordered to prostrate for Adam; and jealousy caused one of Adam's sons to kill another one."

Whether material or immaterial, can act independently?

It is essential to remember that in the Islamic worldview, all that exists—whether they be angels, jinn, or human beings, and whether they are material or immaterial—are creations of Allah SWT), and can only act according to Allah's (SWT) will. Allah (SWT) constantly reminds us in the Qur'an that no cause, whether material or immaterial, can act independently. Life and death, benefit and loss, are all subservient to His power.

What are the Types of Jinn?

It is mentioned in 6.Bihar al-Anwar, vol. "Allah created the jinn of five types: 1-a type like airborne odors and fragrances, a snake-like type, a type like scorpions, a type like insects of the earth, and a type like mankind who will have to give accounts and will receive retribution(punishment)."

Jinn also has certain such powers. For instance, they can perform feats with incredible speed. Though their power of intellect is weak, they can move heavy objects with astonishing speed. Some verses of the Qur'an indicate that jinn—like humans—are physical beings. In the story of Sulayman (ع), one jinn claims to be able to bring Bilqis's throne to Sulayman's (ع) court quicker than he can stand up. , indicating that he did possess such an ability. In other verses, the jinn can listen to the Qur'an being recited shows their ability to hear.

30. Man, Allah's Deputy on Earth! Through the previous verses of surah Baqrah, we have understood that Allah has created all the endowments on the earth for Man, whereas in these verses the leadership and vicegerency - خلیفہ of Man is formally proclaimed. Thus, here, Man's spiritual rank and worthiness of all these merits, are exposed. In these verses, which begin from verse No.30 and end with verse 39, the creation of Adam (the first human) is referred to and the following three fundamental subjects are set forth: 1. Allah informs the angels about man's vicegerency on the earth and their questioning of Him. 2. Angels are commanded to prostrate before the first human, Adam. This situation is referred to in numerous verses in the Holy Qur'an concerning different circumstances. 3. The illustration of the situation of Adam and his life in Heaven and the events causing him to be sent out from Heaven, and then, his repentance and the order that he and his children were to live on the earth, are pointed out. The verses under discussion speak about -the first stage. It was His Will, so He created a being on the earth to be His vicegerent. -The attributes of this deputy would be a reflection from the rays of Allah Attributes, and his position somehow higher than that of the angels. -It was His Will that the earth and all its endowments, i.e. forces, treasures, mines, and all its potentials be subjected to the will of such a human being. -یہ اسی کی مرضی تھی کہ زمین اور اس کی تمام ترقوتیں ، یعنی قوتیں ، خزانے ، بارودی سرنگیں اور اس کی تمام تر صلاحیتیں ایسے انسان کی مرضی کے تابع ہوجائیں۔ -Such a being must have a vast share of wisdom, intelligence, conception and a special capacity so that he can undertake the leadership and mastership of the earthly beings. https://www.al-islam.org/enlightening-commentary-light-holy-quran-vol-1/section-3

Supplication

O Lord! Protect us all from the evil of every tempter and dark inspiration. O Lord! The trap is deep, the enemy is wakeful, his plots are hidden, and rescue is impossible but with Your Grace.

Who are the soldiers of Shaitan ?

People who work against the words of Allah(SWT) are soldiers of Shaitan. They are among the whisperers of jinn and mankind.

What happened once Adam and Eve ate fruit from the forbidden tree? Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 22. "Then he (Satan) caused them both to fall by deceit; so when they tasted the (forbidden) tree, their shameful parts became exposed to them and they both took to stitching upon themselves leaves of the Garden; and their Lord called out to them: 'Did I not forbid you both from that tree and (did I not) say to you that verily Satan is a manifest foe for you?'."

Satan deceived Adam and Eve and caused them to be thrown down into the valley of misfortune so that they were sent away from that exalted rank. As soon as they tasted from the fruit of that tree and ate it, their clothing fell down from their bodies, and they were ashamed of each other. They took the leaves of the trees and put them over each other to cover their private parts in addition to that. Regarding this matter, it was pointed out in Surah Al-Baqarah that the general interest was so that such a scene would come forth for Adam and Eve, and they should come out from the Garden. Their banishment from the Garden was not their retribution because prophets do not commit any sin to deserve the penalty. It was only a 'leaving the better,,tark al-awlā ' i.e. it would be better if they did not do it. This was what Allah, addressing Adam and Eve, called out to them both.

What was the aim of Shaitan for having a long life? Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 16. "He (Satan) said: 'Since You have let me wander off, I will certainly lay wait for (deceiving) them in Your Straight Path '." .

Satan did not want, of course, to have a long life and to be alive in order to compensate the past, but he expressed his aim of this long life that, the same as he was wandered off, he could lay wait on the Straight Path of Allah and deceive them all, so that, the same that he got astray, they might go astray, too. Whoever is on the right path, Satan will try to distract them.

What did Shaitan do to prove himself truthful? Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 21. "And he swore unto them both: ' Verily I am a sincere adviser to you'."

Satan made an oath for Adam and Eve that he was benevolent in inviting them to eat from that tree. Therefore, their delusion was strengthened thereby because Adam and his wife imagined that no one would swear by Allah falsely.

What did Shaitan plan that led to the banishment of Hazrat Adam(a.s) and Eve from Heaven. ? Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 20. "Then Satan whispered (evil suggestions) unto the two (Adam and Eve) that he might manifest unto them that which was hidden from them of their shameful parts, and he said: 'Your Lord has not prohibited you from this tree except that you may not both become two angels or that you may (not) become of the immortals."

Satan tempted Adam and Eve in the feature of a friend and a benevolent one-ہمدرد. He knew that whoever's shameful parts be manifest, the one should not remain in Heaven. The only way the private parts of Adam and Eve could become manifest was by eating from the forbidden tree. So, Satan planned a plot that they might eat from that tree. Thus, Satan prepared the necessary things for their banishment from Heaven. He told them if they had eaten from that tree, they would have turned into the form of angels, and they could remain in Heaven forever. He said that the reason of that prohibition was that they would not become angels, or would not dwell in Heaven for ever.

How Satan's influences mankind?

Satan's Influence Satan exerts his influence on man's thoughts. He launches his assaults from various fronts, of which we mention a few: 1. He tries to deter man from worshipping Allah (SWT) according to the requirements of revelation by tempting him to act according to his desires. 2. He influences man's ability to reason so that instead of reaching conclusions based on solid reasoning, he accepts fallacies that only seem to be rational. 3. He influences man's ability to understand reality as it is. He skews man's understanding or convinces him to reject the possibility of understanding such reality. In this way, Satan first corrupts one's perception of reality, then his ability to comprehend reality, and finally his actions. The Qur'an and ahadith indicate that Satan and his cohorts only influence people who have surrendered their devotion to Allah (SWT) and who—in a fit of heedlessness—have fallen into a stupor of self-conceit. Of his admission, he does not influence Allah's (SWT) faithful servants. 39. "('Iblis) said: 'O' Lord! because You have left me to stray, certainly I will adorn (evil) to them on the earth, and certainly I will cause them all to go astray'. "40. "Except Your chosen servants among them."

What are the Limits of Shaitan's power?

Shaitan has the power to incite man with tempting thoughts, call him toward evil, and make evil seem beautiful to him. He has no power to force anyone to do anything. Both angels and jinn indeed have the power to descend upon people. The descent of angels is not limited to the moment of death. For example, if someone says, "Allah" with full attention, angels descend(comes down) upon him.

In what manner does Shaitan speak to Allah (swt)?

Shaitan speaks to Allah (swt) with the manner of great respect by saying "O by the name of your Glory" or by saying "O my Majesty."

What are the reasons for Satan's refusal and its consequences mentioned Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 13? 13. "(Allah) said: 'Get you down from this (state): it does not befit you to behave proudly therein. Therefore, go you out. Verily you are of the abject ones

Since Satan's refusal from prostrating for Adam (as) was not an ordinary and simple refusal, nor it was counted - habitual sin, but 1- it was a rebellion accompanied with a protest and denial unto the Glory of Allah, then his opposition found a way to infidelity and negating Allah's knowledge and wisdom. 2-Then, Allah describes the origin of this getting down to him by the following sentence, and explains that he was not right to pave the path of pride in that rank. It is clearly understood from this part of the verse that the entire misfortune and wretchedness of Satan was the effect of his arrogance. 3-And, consequently, he had to lose his positions and personal status in the divine portal. So, Allah sent him out from the distinguished situation he had obtained in the standing ranks of angels. 4-That is, not only Satan did not become magnified by that action, but also, on the contrary, he was entitled as the abject ones.

87. "And (remember) Zan-Nun (Jonah) when he departed (his people) in anger and imagined that We would not straiten him; so he called out in the darkness: 'There is no god but You (O my Lord!). Glory be to You! Verily I was of the unjust ones'!"

Some Explanations About the Life of Yunus 1. Yunus was busy preaching among his people for years in Neynawa, located in the land of Iraq. He invited them to the religion of Allah, but the more he tried to guide them the less his guidance affected on their hearts. Once he became angry and, leaving that place, went to the shore of the sea. He embarked a ship there, but in the way the sea became so wavy that it was about that all the people in the ship to be drowned. The captain of the ship, addressing the passengers, said he thought there was a runaway slave among them whom had to be thrown into the sea. (Or he said the ship was too heavy and by drawing lots, one passenger should he thrown into the sea.) However, they cast lots for several times and every time Yunus was elected by lots. Yunus understood that there was a secret concealed in that, so he resigned himself to the events. When he was thrown into the sea, a huge crocodile swallowed him, and Allah miraculously kept him alive. When he finally realized that he had done a 'leaving the better', he turned to Allah and confessed his shortcoming and negligence. Allah accepted his prayer, too, and delivered him from that strait.14

What did Allah(SWT) answer angels, sympathizing with man, when Satan made an oath that he will lay in wait of man from four sides in order to lead him astray?

Some Islamic traditions denote that when Satan made an oath that he will lay in wait of man from four sides in order to lead him astray or to bar him, angels, sympathizing with man, said: "O' Allah! how will this man be delivered?" The Lord answered: "There are two ways open for him, the upward and the downward. Whenever man stretches his hands for supplication, or puts his head on the ground, I will forgive him of the sins of seventy years."2 کچھ اسلامی روایات سے یہ اشارہ ملتا ہے کہ جب شیطان نے یہ قسم کھا لی کہ وہ انسان کو اس کے گمراہ کرنے یا روکنے کے لئے چاروں طرف سے انتظار کرے گا تو فرشتوں نے انسان سے ہمدردی ظاہر کرتے ہوئے کہا: یا اللہ!

How does Shaitan accomplish in making people think that they are a raab, king, and Illah of other human beings?

Sometimes people with managerial and leadership positions start thinking of themselves as raab and poorly acts to their staff. Sometimes people with some authority don't listen to others and start thinking of themselves as above others as if they are a king. Rarely, people reach a level of arrogance and disobedience where they claim to be God and want people to worship them like Farhoun.

What does this surah highlight?

Surah Nas highlights the need for us to seek refuge (پناہ )from the most dangerous and open enemy in our life which is Shaitan. Therefore, the final surah is concerned with taking refuge from Shaitan.

What is the meaning of the word "Insaan"?

The Arabic word that corresponds to "human being" is Insaan. This word takes its root from the word Nisyan, which literally means "forgetfulness". Man is undeniably a very forgetful creature.

Explain the Etymology of Jinn?

The Etymology of Jinn The word "jinn" has been used 22 times in the Qur'an. "Jinn" is derived from the word denoting "to hide" or "to be hidden." Jinn is created from fire or an amalgam of fire. In Qur'an, Jinn is conscious beings with free will that are hidden from human perception under normal circumstances. Like mankind, Jinn is legally accountable to Allah (SWT) and can choose to believe or disbelieve. They will be raised on the Day of Judgment. Mulla Sadra (was a Persian Shia Islamic mystic, philosopher, theologian, and 'Ālim who led the Iranian cultural renaissance in the 17th century. )describes the Jinn in the following terms: "Jinn have substantial existence both in this corporeal realm( physical material body)and in the unseen or imaginal world. Now, as for their existence in this world, it is as we explained before—there is no substance that has any type of subtlety and composure whatsoever but that it contains a spirit and a soul which has been infused into it from the source of Pure Activity. Perhaps the reason why Jinn can manifest and hide at different times lies in the subtlety( feature)of their bodies. They can disperse the components of their bodies and then collate them. When they collate their bodily components, they can be seen. And when they disperse themselves, they become invisible like water vapor which appears like clouds when condensed and disappears when heated." Like human beings, Jinn possesses a body and spirit and is conscious, and has free will. Some are male and others female. They reproduce and are accountable to Allah (SWT). They are born, and they die. They can choose to believe or disbelieve.

What makes us strong enough to repel the evil intentions of shaitan?

The Faith on Allah (swt), reciting this surah on daily basis, and taking care of our weak areas makes our nafs (ourselves) stronger and helps us repel Shaitan's evil intentions.

The remembrance of Allah will prevent Shaitan from misleading humanity, even Shaitan recognizes that.

What is the sense of the act of Angel's prostration for Adam, mentioned in surah seven ayat 11? Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 7:11. "And indeed We created you, then We fashioned you, then We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves unto Adam.' So they (all) did prostrate themselves except lblees; he was not of the prostrating ones."

The Story of Satan's Disobedience The creation of man and his being fashioned is referred to in this seventh Surah of the Qur'an. All angels, including Iblis who was in their row, while he was not from among them, were commanded to prostrate themselves unto Adam, the first ancestor of all human beings. They accepted and eagerly obeyed the command of Allah, except Iblis. The prostration of the angels for Adam was not done in the sense of 'prostration of worship', because the act of being worshipped is specific to Allah alone. Then, prostration here is for humility and modesty. Also mentioned in surah 2:34

How surah Falaq is different than surah Nas?

The content of this Surah corresponds with the previous one, Surah 113, Surah Falaq. The subject is supplementary to that of the previous Surah. In both of them, Man is asked to take refuge with Allah by using His name rabb- 'the Lord', with a difference that in Surah Falaq, various kinds of external evil are mentioned, but in this Surah, the evil of internal, hidden tempters is emphasized.

What is the meaning of Qul in verse one? What command of Allah (SWT) is mentioned in verse 1? 1. "Say: I take refuge with the Lord of Mankind," اے رسول کہہ دیجئے کہ میں انسانوں کے پروردگار کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں

The human is always exposed to devilish temptations, and the Satans, of Jinn and men, try to penetrate his heart. The higher the standard of his knowledge and degree of his social position, the more intense the Satans' temptations will be until they divert him from the straight way and send him astray. This Surah commands the Holy Prophet (S) to seek refuge with Allah(SWT) from the evil of any temptations as a leader and as an example.

How did Ibn Sireen get the gift of interpreting dreams?

The lady for whom Ibn Sireen worked for, tried to get him to commit a grave sin. He avoided sinning by putting his feces on his body and saved himself from her bad intentions. Allah (swt) likes this act so much and gifted him with the understanding and interpretation of dreams. The Great Book of Interpretation of Dreams (Tafsir al-Ahlam al-kabir) attributed to the 7th century scholar Ibn Sirin which was originally compiled in the 15th century by al-Dārī under the title Selection of Statements on the Exegesis of Dreams.[1] . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Book_of_Interpretation_of_Dreams Interpretation of Dreams', the famous writing of scholar Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Sirin al-Basri (33/653 - 110/728). Muhammad Ibn Sirin, born in Basra, Iraq, was a Muslim interpreter of dreams. The book is a reference for the interpretation of visions and dreams, so the reader can consider the signs of dreams for what they are: A glad tiding, an oath, a warning or a benefaction related to this life and to the Hereafter. https://jarirbooksusa.com/15801.html

What is the meaning of Ayat 83 in Surah Saad (Surah 38) إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُـخْلَصِينَ 38:83. "Except Your servants among them that are sincere."

The meaning of this ayat "Except Your servants among them that are sincere" مخلص is that Shaitan knows that there is a group of special servants of Allah that will never follow his temptation. They are the chosen ones, and Muhammad (s) and his progeny (as) will never come into the realm of his penetration and temptation of Shaitan. It would be the same for the true followers of Prophet Muhammad (s) and his progeny (as) as well.

What is the meaning of the terms شَرِّ and الْخَنَّاسِ the fourth verse? 4. "4. From the evil of the whisperer the sneaky one

The word sher شَرِّ comes from the word shaerah, which means means the harmful sparks of flames. The term kannas is derived from kunus with the meaning of 'to gather, to remain behind', and kannas, here means 'Satan', because he hides himself at the name of Allah and hiding is with the action of remaining behind, so, the word has been used in the sense of 'to hide'. Also, The word khanas means a person that comes and goes. The word wawas ul khanass means that the whisperer(Iblees), giving evil thoughts, comes and goes, and Iblees repeatedly gives messages to commit sins like lying , listening music , dishonesty, disobedience to parents , etc...... Khanas means one who keeps going and coming back. There is no way to stop Shaitan because he will always continue his efforts to mislead us. He may stop for a while, but he will always come back to tempt us.

Abil-Jurud asked Imam Baqir (as) about what was the way that he (AS) and his forefather (AS) loved to worship Allah (SWT), so that he may do so the same way?

Then, Imam (AS) replied:to Abil Jurud: By Allah, I give you (your answer of) my religion and the religion of my fathers by which we worship Allah, Almighty and Glorious. It is the confession of faith that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad (S) is the Messenger of Allah, with affirmation that what has come to him (the Quran) is from Allah, having affection for us and the lovers and obedients of us (Ahlul-Bayt) and hatred to our enemies, surrender (submit) to our cause, awaiting our Qa'im (the twelveth Imam, for whom there is a domination that will come whenever Allah wills), and struggles (Jihad of Nafs) (for establishing divine obligatories and lawful matters) and is pious, (he avoids unlawful things)'."6 6.Al-Kafi, vol. 1, p. 34 An Expressive Tradition

What are the virtues of reciting this Surah?

There are numerous traditions on the virtue of reciting this Surah; for example, a tradition says that the Holy Prophet (S) became gravely ill. Gabriel and Michael, two great angels of Allah, came to him. Gabriel sat beside the Holy Prophet's head (S), and Michael sat near his feet. Gabriel recited Surah Falaq and by it placed the Prophet (S) in the refuge of Allah, and Michael recited Surah Nas. 1 In a tradition from Imam Baqir (as), it is said: "He who recites Surah Falaq, Nas, and Ikhlas in his Watr prayer he will be told 'O servant of Allah, rejoice that Allah accepted your Watr prayer'. 2, 3 1.Nur-uth-Thaqalayn, vol. 5, p. 7645, and Majma'-al-Bayan, vol. 10, p. 569. 2.'watr ' means 'odd number rak'at'. 3.Nur-uth-Thaqalayn, vol. 5, p. 7645, and Majma'-al-Bayan, vol. 10, p

How Allah(SWT) speaks to his different creations? Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 12. "He said: ' What prevented you that you did not prostrate when I commanded you?' He said: 'I am better than him. You created me of fire while You created him of clay '."

This verse indicates that Allah called Iblis to account for the disobedience and rebellion he showed. He asked him why he refused prostration when He commanded him to prostrate. In answer to this question, Iblis resorted to an implausible excuse, as the verse points out: Iblis imagined as if the fire is superior to clay. This was one of the most significant faults of Iblis. Or, perhaps, he did not make a mistake either, but he told a lie because of his arrogance and selfishness. But the privilege of Adam was not that he was created of clay. The main superiority of Adam was that very spirit of humanity and the rank of vice-regency of Allah that he was given. There arises a question here, asking how Satan spoke with Allah(SWT) and whether revelation was sent down to him. The answer to this question is that there is no problem that Allah speaks with another person, not through revelation and messengers(like Jibereel(a.s)), but through innate inspiration(originating in or derived from the mind or the constitution of the intellect rather than from experience, by birth ), or by way of some angels, whether this person is one of the righteous and the purified ones, like Mary and mother of Moses, or one of the dishonest ones, like Satan.

Who are soldiers of Shaitan mentioned in verse 6? 6. From among the Jinn and mankind

This verse is showing that Shaitan's soldiers are among Jinn -الْجِنَّةِ and Mankind- النَّاسِ . Shaitan's soldiers are among humans. Sometimes, we start following our friends and people around us who invite to do haraam (peer pressure), but we should always remember that we are answerable in our graves for our actions. We can prevent ourselves from the effects of peer pressure by reminding ourselves that our acts can either make Shaitan or Allah (swt) happy. Shaitan's soldiers are also among Jinn. The Jinn are unseen and hidden from man, but they have their limitations and states just as man does. Also, among the Jinn is Shaitan's children. Therefore, we are asking Allah for refuge and protection from the enemies whose nature we do not understand, and whose creation is not visible to us.

From where Allah(SWT) will raise on the Resurrection Day? 24. "He said: 'Get you down, some of you (being) the enemies of others and for you there is in the earth an abode and a provision for a (fixed) time'."25. "He said: 'Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die, and from it shall you be raised'."

Thus, Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden, and after that, humankind began their adventurous lives on the earth. Allah says to human beings that both your lives and deaths perform on the earth, and, on the Resurrection Day, It is understood from this verse that, on the Resurrection Day, Allah will raise and bring out human beings from this very ground. 1.Majma'-ul-Bayan, Vol. 4, P. 403, - Tafsir-ul-Burhan, tradition https://www.al-islam.org/enlightening-commentary-light-holy-quran-vol-5/section-2-creation-adam-and-defiance-satan 1.Majma'-ul-Bayan, Vol. 4, P. 403, - Tafsir-ul-Burhan, tradition. Can we completely blame Shaitan for all of our bad deeds?

We cannot completely blame Shaitan for all of our sins since he only whispers temptations, but at the end of the day, it is our choice to either follow him or resist him.

What are examples which we should always remember to recognize how shaitan influences our actions?

We should always remember the examples of Hazrat Adam(as) and Bibi Hawa , Qabil and Habeel, and Firaun, where Shaitan persuaded many men and women before us to commit bad deeds. We should recognize that we must guard ourselves, but we will only be successful with the help of Allah(swt). NOTE:Hazrat Adam(as) and Bibi Hawa we discussed earlier

What should we recite before Quran?

We should recite أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaitan It is mentioned in Quran: Surah An-Nahl - Verse 16:98. "So when you recite the Qur'an, seek refuge with Allah from (the vices of) the Satan, the accursed."

When Imam Musa Kazim (a.s.) was in prison, what did the Imam (a.s) say to a women to whom Haroon sent to distract him from ibadat(prayers) ?

When Imam (a.s) was in prison, Haroon sent a woman to distract Imam (a.s.) from the ibadat of Allah(swt). When she came, she consistently asked the Imam (a.s) to sleep with her. Imam (a.s) told her to look up at the ceiling where, with Imam's(as) miracle, she saw the gardens and rivers of heaven. Imam (as) asked her why he should commit sins for temporary desires and pleasures from the whispers of shaitan when Allah (swt) has greater and permanent rewards for the pious.

What is the meaning of the word "ILLAH-إِلَهِ " in ayat 3? إِلَهِ النَّاسِ "The God of Mankind,"

When we combine the word Raab and Malik, it allows us to understand the meaning of the word "Illah" . It allows us to recognize that Allah is not just to be worshiped but to be obeyed, which leads us to success in the hereafter.

What is the difference between just worshipping Allah and fully obeying Allah(swt)

Worshipping Allah may just be actions like praying and fasting. However, obedience requires consistency in attitudes and actions like choosing not to sin when it seems exciting to do so. A person who fasts and prays is worshiping Allah (swt), but when comes to acts, for example of being truthful, honest, and following the sunnah is the obedience to Allah(swt). Islam is to submit. Complete submission brings the certainity and keep us away from shaitanic whispers.

What is meant by الظَّالِمِينَ- unjust in ayat 7:19 and 21:87 ? Surah Al-'A'raf, Verse 19. "And O' Adam! dwell you and your spouse in the Garden, and eat you two from wherever you two desire, but do not approach this tree lest you will be of the unjust." 87. "And (remember) Zan-Nun (Jonah) when he departed (his people) in anger and imagined that We would not straiten him; so he called out in the darkness: 'There is no god but You (O my Lord!). Glory be to You! Verily I was of the unjust ones'!"

Zulm( unjust) is the opposite of addal(just). For example, have a hat on foot instead of head and wearing shoes over the head instead of feet. It means Do not give something its proper place, "abandoning the better" and unfavorable act The objective meaning of 'being unjust' is that they abandoned performing a recommendable act and, therefore, were deprived of its compensation.

Give few examples of Jinn from Quran?

[2:34] And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam they did obeisance, but Iblis (did it not). He refused and he was proud, and he was one of the unbelievers. [2:168] O men! Eat the lawful and good things out of what is in the earth, and do not follow the footsteps of the Shaitan; surely he is your open enemy. [2:169] He only enjoins you evil and indecency, and that you may speak against Allah what you do not know [2:208] O you who believe! enter into submission one and all and do not follow the footsteps of Shaitan; surely he is your open enemy. [2:268] Shaitan threatens you with poverty and enjoins you to be niggardly, and Allah promises you forgiveness from Himself and abundance; and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing. [4:117] They do not call besides Him on anything but idols, and they do not call on anything but a rebellious Shaitan. [4:118] Allah has cursed him; and he said: Most certainly I will take of Thy servants an appointed portion: [4:119] And most certainly I will lead them astray and excite in them vain desires, and bid them so that they shall slit the ears of the cattle, and most certainly I will bid them so that they shall alter Allah's creation; and whoever takes the Shaitan for a guardian rather than Allah he indeed shall suffer a manifest loss. [4:120] He gives them promises and excites vain desires in them; and the Shaitan does not promise them but to deceive. [4:121] These are they whose abode is hell, and they shall not find any refuge from it. [7:27] O children of Adam! Let not the Shaitan cause you to fall into affliction as he expelled your parents from the garden, pulling off from them both their clothing that he might show them their evil inclinations, he surely sees you, he as well as his host, from whence you cannot see them; surely We have made the Shaitans to be the guardians of those who do not believe. [15:28] And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. [15:29] So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. [15:30] So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, [15:31] But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. [15:32] He said: O Iblis! What excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? [15:33] He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. [15:34] He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: [15:35] And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. [15:36] He said: My Lord! Then respite me till the time when they are raised. [15:37] He said: So surely you are of the respited ones [15:38] Till the period of the time made known. [15:39] He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate [15:40] Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. [15:41] He said: This is a right way with Me: [15:42] Surely, As regards My servants, you have no authority ,over them except those who follow you of the deviators. [15:43] And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: [16:99] Surely he (shaitan) has no authority over those who believe and rely on their Lord. [16:100] His authority is only over those who befriend him (Shaitan) and those who associate others with Him (Allah). [17:53] And say to My servants (that) they speak that which is best; surely the Shaitan sows dissensions among them; surely the Shaitan is an open enemy to man. [17:61] And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam; they made obeisance, but Iblis (did it not). He said: Shall I make obeisance to him whom Thou hast created of dust? [17:62] He said: Tell me, is this he whom Thou hast honored above me? If Thou shouldst respite me to the day of resurrection, I will most certainly cause his progeny to perish except a few. [17:63] He said: Be gone! For whoever of them will follow you, then surely hell is your recompense, a full recompense: [17:64] And beguile whomsoever of them you can with your voice, and collect against them your forces riding and on foot, and share with them in wealth and children, and hold out promises to them; and the Shaitan makes not promises to them but to deceive: [17:65] Surely (as for) My servants, you have no authority over them; and your Lord is sufficient as a Protector. [ [18:50] And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam; they made obeisance but Iblis (did it not). He was of the jinn, so he transgressed the commandment of his Lord. What! Would you then take him and his offspring for friends rather than Me, and they are your enemies? Evil is (this) change for the unjust. [22:3] And among men there is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge and follows every rebellious Shaitan; [22:4] Against him it is written down that whoever takes him (Shaitan) for a friend, he shall lead him astray and conduct him to the chastisement of the burning fire. [22:52] And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet, but when he desired, the Shaitan made a suggestion respecting his desire; but Allah annuls that which the Shaitan casts, then does Allah establish His communications, and Allah is Knowing, Wise, [22:53] So that He may make what the Shaitan casts a trial for those in whose hearts is disease and those whose hearts are hard; and most surely the unjust are in a great opposition, [26:221] Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? [26:222] They descend upon every lying, sinful one, [26:223] They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. [26:224] And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. [26:225] Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? [26:226] And that they say that which they do not do, [34:20] And certainly the Shaitan found true his conjecture concerning them, so they (wretched) follow him, except a party of the believers. [34:21] And he has no authority over them, but that We may distinguish him who believes in the hereafter from him who is in doubt concerning it; and your Lord is the Preserver of all things [35:5] O men! Surely the promise of Allah is true, therefore let not the life of this world deceive you, and let not the arch-deceiver (Iblis) deceive you respecting Allah. [35:6] Surely the Shaitan is your enemy, so take him for an enemy; he only invites his party that they may be inmates of the burning fire. [36:59] And get aside today (at Qayamah), O guilty ones! [36:60] Did I not charge you, O children of Adam! That you should not serve the Shaitan? Surely he is your open enemy, [36:61] And that you should serve Me; this is the right way. [36:62] And certainly he led astray numerous people from among you. What! could you not then understand? [37:6] Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, [37:7] And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. [37:8] They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, [37:9] Being driven off (from the heavens), and for them is a perpetual chastisement, [37:10] Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame (bolt) [37:11] Then ask them whether they (demons) are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. [38:71] When your Lord said to the angels; Surely I am going to create a mortal from dust: [38:72] So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down making obeisance to him. [38:73] And the angels did obeisance, all of them, [38:74] But not Iblis: he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers. [38:75] He said: O Iblis! What prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones? [38:76] He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust. [38:77] He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: [38:78] And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. [38:79] He said: My Lord! Then respite me to the day that they are raised. [38:80] He said: Surely you are of the respited ones, [38:81] Till the period of the time made known. [38:82] He said: Then by Thy Might I will surely make them live an evil life, all, [38:83] Except Thy servants from among them, the purified ones. [38:84] He said: The truth then is and the truth do I speak: [38:85] That I (Allah) will most certainly fill hell with you (Iblis) and with those among them who follow you, all. [41:36] And if an interference of the Shaitan should cause you mischief, seek refuge in Allah; surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. [43:36] And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent Allah, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate. [43:37] And most surely they (shaitans) turn them away from the path, and they think that they are guided aright: [43:38] Until when he comes to Us, he says: O would that between me and you there were the distance of the East and the West; so evil is the associate! [43:62] And let not the Shaitan prevent you (from Sirat Al-Mustaqeem); surely he is your open enemy. [58:10] Secret counsels are only (the work) of the Shaitan that he may cause to grieve those who believe, and he cannot hurt them in the least except with Allah's permission, and on Allah let the believers rely. [59:16] Like the Shaitan when he says to man: Disbelieve, but when he disbelieves, he says: I am surely clear of you; surely I fear Allah, the Lord of the worlds. [59:17] Therefore the end of both of them is that they are both in the fire to abide therein, and that is the reward of the unjust.
