What happens on their trip?
Rawlin points out a figure following them while they were on the path to Mexico. They stop a few times and find that the person following them was a kid named Jimmy Blevins.
Setting
Texas near the border, early 50's in the spring.
Setting Changes
They cross and go into Mexico which is desolate, dry, and empty. There is nothing modern there and no electricity. So it is like entry to the past.
Housed by Mexicans
They keep going and find a house that wants to host them. They give them food and a place to stay. While eating the food, Jimmy fell down and was laughed at by the girls who are residents of the house. He left and would not go back in the house because they laughed at him. They talk about Mexico and the man who is hosting them tells them there's something amazing ahead.
