Time management

Major

An academic discipline to which an undergraduate student formally commits.(major concentration; academic major)

Bachelors degree

A bachelor's degree (also baccalaureate, from Modern Latin baccalaureatus) is usually earned for an undergraduate course of study that nominally requires three to five years of study (depending on institution and field of study).

Degree

A grade point average is a number representing the average value of the accumulated final grades earned in courses over time. More commonly called a GPA, a student's grade point average is calculated by adding up all accumulated final grades and dividing that figure by the number of grades awarded.

A higher level learning institution that specializes in providing students with vocational education

Community college

A non residential junior college offering courses to people living in a particular area

Schedule

A plan of procedure/ classes that references the sequence of time

Lab

A room or building equipped for scientific experimentation or research.

Student loan

A student loan is designed to help students pay for university tuition, books, and living expenses. It may differ from other types of loans in that the interest rate may be substantially lower and the repayment schedule may be deferred while the student is still in school.

Part time student

Definition of Full-Time and Part-Time. Enrolled Students. A graduate student is considered to be full-time with 9 or more units, two 4-unit courses, or four 2-unit courses. A student is considered part-time with a course loaded less than these minimums.

Full time student

Full-time student. A full-time student is a student who is enrolled for the number of hours or courses the school considers to be full-time attendance. School defined. A school can be an elementary school, junior or senior high school, college, university, or technical, trade, or mechanical school.

Masters degree

The first three years of study are often the same as a bachelor's degree, followed by an additional year of study at a master's degree level. The degree is only conferred at the end of study as a full master's - an intermediate bachelor's degree is not awarded.

Unit of teaching that last one academic term, led by one or more instructors/teachers

Diploma

a certificate awarded by an educational establishment to show that someone has successfully complete a course of study
