sleepwalking passage Sleepwalking is a common phenomenon. In fact estimates for the number of sleepwalkers in the United States range into millions. However, for many, this odd ailment still remains a baffling and potentially dangerous problem. For instance a woman from the Midwest went sleepwalking one June night and made national headlines- for some reason. Dressed in her pajamas, the woman wandered from her home to climb a nearby tree in pick leaves some 20 feet above the ground. Soon a crowd of fascinated neighbors gathered to watch her sleep walking acrobatics. While they watched, her husband climbed up the tree, wrapped a jacket around her, tapped her gently on the shoulder to awaken her and then tumbled her somewhat shaken by heard night roving into the net firemen had spread below. This woman feat may have been the most spectacular sleepwalking performance that June night but it was far from the only one. The same night in homes across America thousands of others were sleepwalking. Authorities have estimated that there are some 4 million sleepwalkers in this country. Far from surprising then, that we all know of cases of it even in our own families. Despite the fact that sleepwalking or noctambulation occurs frequently, this odd ailment remains a baffling, uncanny if not frightening phenomenon. And one of the chief reasons for this has been the mark tendency of newspapers and other media to play up as they did in this womans case only be most bizarre sleep walking antics. Reports have shown that sleepwalkers performance remarkable feats of memory; climb up on steep roofs; write letters; solve intricate mathematical problems; play the piano or some other musical instrument; compose music; and commit robbery suicide or murder. There simply no end to the stores of the weird feats that sleepwalkers are allegedly capable of performing

Frankenstein tells the story of a scientist who creates an intelligent but terrifying creature in a lab experiment and then is tortured by what he has done. They story is infused with elements of gothic horror and is representative of the romantic movement. Some suggest that Frankenstein should be considered the first true science fiction story. However, while the usage of science and technology is a primary theme of the science fiction genre, a facet of that theme is the explanation of the technology. No scientific explanation for the monsters creation is ever given. Frankenstein focuses heavily on the moral issues and consequences of creating such a beast, themes far more representative of the gothic novel.

brother diege passage "They killed him, Diego! I dont know how they did, but they killed your brother!" I dropped the smartphone and its screen shattered as it hit the ground. My mothers frantic voice was still coming out of the speaker but i didnt hear her. My brother was dead. My stupid invincible brother who had survived buildings collapsing on him, trucks crashing into him, and tanks rolling over him, was dead. I wasnt prepared for this. No one could be prepared for this. Sure, everyone knew there were just as many supervillians as superheros in the world. If not more, but i didnt think the villians could win. I never thought they could defeat the likes of ultraguy or lady dervish or macwolfen. I definitely did not think anyone could defeat my brother, the hero known as impervious. I wracked my brain, trying to figure out if javier had ever mentioned having a weakness. The liklihood that he was killed by some sort of alien technology was roughly zilch. Even though the comics had come to life with the appearance of super powered humans over a decade ago at the turn of the century, the science fiction of extraterrestrial life was still just that: fiction. As long as i could remember, javier had been a picture of perfect health. He wasnt just invincible on the outside, his insides seemed immune to damage or infection as well. He'd never been sick, never gotten so much as a scratch from crashing his bike and never broken a single bone. i dont know how anyone could hurt hi, much less kill him. He'd even survived being at ground zero of a nuclear detonation. Horror washed over me as i was shaken from my thoughts by a terrifying realization: what powerful evil could we be facing that could defeat my brother? Even worse, if impervious couldnt beat it who could?
answer the following questions
cats vs. dog passage There are many different choices when looking for a pet. Despite all the different possibilities people will often choose either a cat or a dog. there really isn't any question though except in one particular circumstance when should always choose the cat. first, Cats are cleaner than dogs. Cats are constantly cleaning themselves. I am pretty sure the only time they like anything is to clean it. If a cat starts licking you it's because you are dirty in it wishes you were clean. Dogs like everything including your face and mouth. When a dog licks your mouth it is like you have kissed anything the dog licked including the bottom of your shoe and probably the toilet. Second cats are way more considerate than dogs. Dogs will draw on your freshly laundered linens all the time just because they want to but cats try to make your clothes and furniture warmer by adding their fur. Cats use a litter box in order to contain their ways to a particular area while dogs will use your shoes or favorite drug so that you know they mean business. A dog will bring you a stick or a ball you threw away because it doesn't care that you threw it away for a reason. a cat will bring you dead animals because it wants to ensure your survival. Cats are more protective than dogs. Dogs will bark at cars for no reason and wake you up in the middle of the night. However if a cat thinks I shadow is trying to suffocate you while you sleep it will leap into action immediately to defend you. The only time there should be a question about what pet to get is if you are allergic to cats. In that case the question is how many fish do I want?

malaria passage Most Americans know that HIV/AIDS is a worldwide health problem; many also believe it is the most dangerous disease across the globe. Malaria, however, far surpasses HIV/AIDS as a cause of sickness and death around the world. One likely reason for Americans' lack of awareness about malaria may be that malaria has been eradicated in this country, thanks in large part to efforts made during World War II. U.S. scientists sought new medicines and methods to control the effects and spread of malaria among combat troops. Those efforts were later applied to an eradication effort that has kept the U.S. malaria-free for decades.

Mustache passage For thousands of years several characteristics have been consistent across human societies around the world. Animal husbandry, agriculture and artistic expression are some of the similarities all societies share. Another similarity is the mustache. So now I mustache a question: why have mustaches had such a notable presence in human history? Humans have been shaving for as long as there has been facial hair to shave. The Handlebar, Pencil, and Walrus are only a few of the many types known today. With just a sharpened razor and some mustache wax, the creativity of people and their mustache can be endless. In the 1800s and early 1900's, mustaches were so popular that a new style of drinking cup, the mustache cup, was created. The mustache cup had a built-in covering, over the top so mustaches would not be touched by the beverage. A more recent example of the mark of mustaches can be seen by the first World Mustache Tournament in 2013. The mustache truly is part of the human experience. Due to its place in the human experience, the mustache is a symbol with varied significance: power, prestige, beauty. When one thinks of mustaches, one may think of a villain from silent films, twisting the ends of his mustache. One may also think of a respected leader with a mustache of prominence.
