What happened on the day of 28th of June in Sarajevo

That morning the archduke sent a telegram to his oldest son congratulating him on his latest exam results He and Sophie then boarded a train to go into Sarajevo After a brief troop inspection the couple got in an opened top car for a motorcade ride to city hall The car in front should've had six especially trained officers but instead had one and three local policeman Meanwhile 7 young Bosnian-serbs had spread out along the Appel quay that was parallel to the miljacka river The route had the car has been published in advance When the motorcade passed by Cabrinovic asked which car carried the archduke, he then threw his bomb at the car however it bounced off the folded roof and rolled underneath the wrong vehicle. The explosion wounded two army officers and several bystanders. He then made an attempt to kill himself by jumping into the river which was mostly dry, so them was dragged out by police. The other two Bosnian Serbs near Cabrinovic lost their nerve to attempt the assassination Ferdinand decided to still attend the planned event at the city hall After he wanted to visit the wounded officers in the hospital However the driver took a wrong turn and when reversing ended up in front of princip who fired two shots at the archduke at point blank range hitting him in the neck and Sophie in the abdomen ''Sophie, sophie don't die, stay alive for our children' the archduke said Both passed away within minutes Princip then took the cyanide pills however they were old and only made him throw up and he was taken away by police
