Then, in cellular respiration, the organisms take that sugar and oxygen, and release ATP, the CO2 and water the plants need in order to photosynthesize.

Compare the amount of energy in the cellular respiration products compared to the cellular respiration reactants. Hint: Remember energy is released.

The amount of energy in the products is the same as the reactants because energy is released for ATP, but not destroyed. The Law of Conservation of Matter says that reactants and products must equal each other.
