Changes after Magna Carta
It limited the kings power. A council of nobles was created to advise the king called Parliament. Soon king could do little without parliament support.
Judging late 1600's
King agreed to free courts of his control. This was key step for democracy to England.

Magna Carta didn't affect other countries. Other countries like France started to have political changed. In 1328 the King of France died with no sons and two men claimed his throne. One was French, the other English King. English king then invaded France and started Hundred Years War

You have the body. People have to be in jail for a reason.
Democracy in England
1215 - Magna Carta signed 1230s - First Parliament meets 1295 - Knights townspeople, and priests are invited to join Parliament. 1330's - Parliament divided into House of Lords and House of Commons 1679 - The Habeas Corpus Act helps ideas in Magna Carta 1688 - English Judge win independence from royal control
Magna Carta changes England
1215 group of nobles make king to respect their rights In Runnymede field near longs they made King John approve the document.
The Black Death
A deadly plague that swept through Europe between 1347 and 1351.
The Hundred Years' War
A long conflict between England and France.
Joan of Arc
A peasant girl who rallied French troops. Was captured and killed by English.
Results of War
England Parliament grew because of king needing money to pay for war. Parliament gained influence, king lost power. French king's power grew because king became popular with nobles because of fighting against English.
Hundred Years Battle
English did well at first winning most battles. Even though Joan of Arc was killed French drove England out of territory.
Bubonic Plague
Identified by buboes that appear on victims body. Spreads through air, kills people in less than a day.
Black death info
Started during Hundred Years war and came from central and easter Asia. Trades brought rats to Mediterranean ports carrying disease accidentally in 1347. It was caused by several different forms of plague. In England 1,000 villages were abandoned. Killed millions.
Magna Carta
The document listing rights that king could not king could not ignore.
Parliament
The law - making body the governs England today.
Effects
Weren't enough people to work fields. Peasants and serfs now made high demands for wages. Once they had money they fled manors (country houses) to growing cities.
