11: How is Marx much more radical in his ideas than the Utopian socialists?

The Communist Manifesto, written in 1848 by him. It had thoughts of his solution to this historical problem: to create a capitalist nation, which in the end would result in a Communist nation. He wanted to help the social status of the working class, because he felt that they were being taken advantage of by the owners.

All men that worked got the normal wage they were paid, but most people that worked in factories were women and children, who only got half the wage as a man would get, and that's why factories liked hiring women and children more.

Children was to work in the lower class, for their families, or to learn skills from their fathers, but working in factories for hours and hours were such a cruel thing seen been done by children, and at half wage as well.

Cities prospered more with more people, cities now had more people which means more work force, but that of course means more mouths to feed, but the agricultural revolution was there to counter this problem.

7: Summarize classical economist's position on the role of government. Could government be used to address social problems?

Classical economist's position on government is that government is essential to butt in into trade and control the people to a certain extent, that government should meddle with the money part of society. And that government is what they use to address social problems.

10: How does Marx argue that his scientific socialism is different than the Utopian Socialist?

He is a Strong believer in the idea that the working class should be self-emancipated from the bourgeoise, which is different from the working class and the bourgeoise following the same government that are made of high officials in the bourgeoise.

13: Summarize what Marx believes is the solution to the poverty of the Proletariat.

Marx believed that as history unfolded, the victory of one class would pave the way for the future freedom of the rest of society.

12: Explain what Marx has to say about class struggle?

Marx wanted to help the working classes because he felt that the working class was being taken advantage of by the bourgeoise. That's why he wrote The Communist Manifesto in 1848

8: Compare and contrast the economic positions of Thomas Malthus and David Ricardo on population and wages.

Thomas Malthus was the one who said that if people died to lessen population, that those people that died should die. David Ricardo developed the theory of comparative advantage, that explains why countries engage in international trade even when one country's workers are more efficient at producing every single good than workers in other countries.

9: Summarize what Utopian socialists hoped to achieve with society.

Utopian socialists hoped to reform society in one or another, but typically in a way that the people creates their own government and they control themselves, and that capital would stand down.

3: Summarize how the industrial revolution changed the labor habits of the typical family.

With the industrial revolution, more machinery was the main focus in factories, and so a typical family would still have a husband that would try to start their business, otherwise they have to resort to working in the factories, the women and the children can also work in the factories, but for lower wages.

1: How did the transportation revolution affect people's access to resources, markets and the world?

With transportation, things can actually get transported across Europe now, things exclusive to one country can finally transport that good to other countries. And that's why the transportation revolution was massive.

5: How did the industrial revolution change the roles of women in society? Compare upper class to lower class women.

Women still got the same rights, however now they are needed to make more cotton and clothes on the machines that were invented, upper class women didn't have to work as much because their family is not as poor as lower class women's family.
