A T.V uses red, green, and blue, which combine to create many different colors.

A mixture of frequencies. Red is color that results from the sum of the entire spectrum of colors released.

When light hits, it is white light because it is a mixture of all the colors. It is called color subtraction because certain colors have been removed (absorbed) from this white light.

Why is the sky sometimes whitish?

When there are places with larger amounts of dust particles, lower frequency particles scatter more, giving the sky a whitish appearance.

What are complementary colors?

When two colors like yellow and blue are added together, they create white. This is the definition of complementary colors.

Are black and white real colors, in the sense that red and green are?

White is the combination of all colors while black is the absence of light.
