bar - Located at the bottom left of the window; it tells you the page you are on and the total page count. It also gives you a word count.

bars - Horizontal and vertical. Used to move the screen views left and right or up and down.

Web

layout view - allows you to accurately format Web documents that will be viewed on a computer screen.

Print

layout view -- default view which displays how a document will look on a printed page.

36. Zoom

level button and Zoom slider - These provide quick ways to enlarge and decrease the size of a document in the document window. (Located at the far right of the status bar.)

44. Overtype

mode - Enables you to replace existing text with new text.

43. Insert

mode - default setting for Word. Enables you to insert letters between existing text.

8. Log

off - To terminate a session with a computer accessed through a communications line—usually a computer that is both distant and open to many users.

9. Log

on - To identify oneself to a computer after connecting to it over a communications line.

20. Dimmed

options - Indicates that under current circumstances these options are not available.

24. Insertion

point - This is the blinking vertical line that appears in the document window when Word is started.

25. Horizontal

ruler - displays left and right document margins as well as the tab setting and paragraph indents, if any.

Full

screen reading view - displays document text so that it is easy to read and annotate.

serif - A font face that has straight edges. Default is Calibri.

settings -Preset conditions within the program which control features such as margins, line spacing, font and font sizes. Example: The default left, right, top and bottom margin settings of a Word document are 1 inch.

41. Automatic

spell check - This feature underlines spelling errors with a red wavy line as you type.

tabs - Each tab on the ribbon includes buttons for commands, which are organized in groups. For example, the Home tab includes the Clipboard, Font, Paragraph, Styles, and Editing groups, each containing buttons related to editing and formatting text.

21. Document

text area - The blank workspace for typing text.

Draft

view - shows a simplified layout of a document, without margins, headers and footers, or graphics.

Outline

view - useful for editing and formatting longer documents that include multiple listings.

15. Word

wrap/wraparound feature - As text is typed, the insertion point automatically advances to the next line. It is only necessary to use the enter key to begin a new paragraph.
