Where did the war break out between the Dutch and Algonquians. Give two reasons

A slave is a person that is owned by another person and could be sold like a piece of property. And indentured servant works for a person for appeared of time to earn their ocean voyage to the colony or freedom. Most came indentured Servants were from Europe and most slaves were from Africa.

Peter Minuit were sent by the Dutch West India Company to run their new colony and to be the first governor. He purchased Manhattan from the Algonquian. Which was later named new Amsterdam.

Who was peter Stuyvesant? Why was he important ?

Peter Stuyvesant sent later became governor of new Amsterdam and started to pass strict laws to bring order to the colony. He remains governor for 17 years. He gave new Amsterdam free public schools, fire department, a hospital and the post office.

The Dutch and the native Americans viewed land very differently. the Dutch thought the land can be claimed for themselves and the Native Americans thought the land belonged to everyone and can be used by any person to hunt, form or saddle

Where did the Dutch settle? What did they call their new colony?

The dutch settled in the New York City area and up river, in present day Kingston, SCHENECTADY and Albany. Their new colony was called new Netherlands
