The main overland route began in the city of Chang'an, but split in two to go around the Taklimakan desert, and divided again to avoid the highest peaks of Hinau Kush. They stretched west to central Asia and south to India.

The male occupations are harder than female. For example while the men do carpentry and metal working the females weave. On the other hand the pay scale is not fair because the agriculture jobs for men pays 15.5 sen per day while for women it's 9.4 sen per day. They are doing the same job but the men earn more.
How did the silk road promote the growth of cities in China?
The silk Road was 4000 miles long, no one can travel that far on foot so places with oasis or rivers became cities where caravans could rest and since a lot of people traveled the route a lot of people stopped also market town spread along the routes and some became major cities

They think that women cannot pick up heavy things and cannot take the hard work but that they can weave and make Silk.
