Expanded Polystyrene

Also known by the trademarked name Styrofoam May be used as a rain/vapor/air barrier (if seams are taped) as well as insulation. Versions available for exterior use, can be exposed to moisture. Suitable for below grade use.

Faced Polyisocyanurate

Foil-Faced Foam Sheathing board is rigid polyisocyanurate foam sheathing that provides exceptional heat, moisture and air control to protect your building's exterior walls, and when installed correctly, eliminates all major thermal bridges that cause heat loss. Continuous exterior sheathing required per building codes in many states. Lightweight: easy to handle, can be cut with a utility knife or saw. High Energy Efficiency: Polyiso has the highest R-value per inch of any rigid board insulation. Low Permeability: Ideal for controlling condensation in walls. Can be used in residential construction as insulated sheathing in above grade exterior walls, above and below grade interior walls, basements, crawl spaces, attic, garage doors, and cathedral ceilings as well as Type I-IV commercial applications. May be used as a rain/vapor/air barrier (if seams are taped) as well as insulation. Versions available for exterior use, can be exposed to moisture.

Roof Membrane Fluttering

When a mechanically attached roof membrane experiences suction or uplift from wind air is pulled into the roof assembly from the building interior if an underside air barrier is not present.

Speed of application, high quality and uniform film thickness without the need to torch, weld and use heating products. They are also particularly beneficial for surfaces that are very dense or sealed. Roof underlayment.

The product is a certified air barrier designed to maximize energy efficiency.

An area within the building envelope where heat transfers from inside to outside or vice versa. Such as a steel stud in an insulated stud wall or metal fastener.

Hybrid Wraps

Combining two material types. These products' integrated backup can bring peace of mind. For example, asphalt-based wraps can be backed by a spun-bonded polymeric layer.

Glass fiber (fiberglass)

Composite material made of a plastic matrix reinforced by tiny glass fibers. It is lightweight yet strong, and a very effective insulation material. Least expensive. May act as a capillary break drainage plane. Most fire resistant. Versions available for exterior use, can be exposed to moisture.

Woven Polymeric Wraps

Made of crisscrossing plastic tapes coated with a waterproof film and may be micro-perforated to allow vapor to pass. Ideal for use behind fiber cement siding, wood, and vinyl, the film can also include UV inhibitors if prolonged exposure, up to about four months, is expected.

Nonwoven Polymeric

Made of spun-bonded polymer resins; the fibers are melted and flattened to form a fabric-like material. Nonwoven wraps can be specified with surfactant resistance to construction chemicals that might be sprayed, such as power washing solutions and detergents. Tyvek

Vapor Retarder

Material used to retard the flow and diffusion of water vapor through walls and the building assembly where this vapor may condense at a lower temperature. Meant to throttle moisture, 10:1 nadar.

Air Barrier

Material(s) assembled and joined together to provide a barrier to air leakage and reduce it through the building envelope. reduces the risk of condensation build up. House wrap and fluid- applied methods are examples. - Vapor membrane - Gyp board (exterior) - OSB - Housewrap fasteners - plastic membrane - Closed cell spray foam - Concrete - Roof membrane - Glass & metal

Closed Cell Spray Foam

Medium density, rigid polyurethane foam that provides an excellent air, vapor and moisture barrier. It is used in interior and exterior applications, both above and below grade. Closed-cell foam has a much higher R-value (R-5.5 to 6.0) than traditional insulation and can maximize R-value with limited thickness. It can dramatically add to structural integrity due to its high density and compression strength.

Fully Adhered Membrane

Monolithic, fully-bonded, fluid-based coatings that have the capability of being fully or locally reinforced in transitional areas on a roof. Van be applied over various substrates such as concrete, brick, wood, mod-bit, TPO, PVC, EPDM and many other surfaces. Form a rubber-like, elastomeric, seamless waterproofing membrane with no cracks, gaps or voids to allow the ingress of water. Allow for easy application of roofing systems to complicated details and penetrations with little to no waste.
