Correlative Conjunctions

A correlative conjunction is a word pair that is used to connect similar words or groups of words. For example, not only, but also. Either, or.

Coordinating Conjunctions

Coordinating conjunctions are words like and, but, for, so and yet that connect words, phrases, or clauses of equal rank. Each coordinating conjunction shows a different relationship. For example, and shows addition or similarity, but and yet indicate contrast, and or and nor a choice.

Subordinating Conjunctions

Subordinating conjunctions are words or phrases that join two complete ideas by making one idea subordinate to, or dependent on, the other. For example, although, because, even though, since, after, if, until, unless.
