adverb

a word used to modify a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. Adverbs usually end in ly. ex. quickly, slowly, skillfully, usually, extremely, very quiet

noun

a word used to name a person, place, thing, action, or quality ex. teacher, school, elevator, arrival, modesty

verb

a word used to show action, feeling, or state of being ex. study, play, rest, pray, dream, work, laugh, cry, move, stop

interjection

a word used to show sudden feeling; also a mere cry of pain or joy. Capital letters and exclamation points may suggest the intensity of feeling, whereas commas and small letters usually show less emotion ex. strong emotion - Hurrah! We've won. mild emotion - It's only a broken vase, but, oh, the difference to me.

preposition

a word used to show the relation between a noun or pronoun and some other word in the sentence ex. to, in, by, at, under, over, near, before, with

an admirable character who appears as teh focus in a tragic play, but one whos is undone bye a mistake, misconception, or flaw
