Caliban promises to serve the two because they had given him alcohol, which Caliban had never had before. Caliban then decided to pledge his allegiance to the two because he was never shown kindness before.

Why is this epilogue different than normal?
It's different because Prospero asking for forgiveness is really Shakespeare asking his audience to let him retire.
Theaters during the Elizabethan Era
James Burbage created the first theater that would later attract Willam Shakespeare where plays would be performed. They were usually two or three stories with a central opening in the ceiling towards the sky. Poorer citizens would sit in the "pit", or right next to the stage where wealthier viewers would buy sheltered gallery seats. Took place during the day because there was no artificial lighting.
