A large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory in central Australia. It is sacred to the Aboriginal peoples of the area.
Nullarbor Plain
A large, flat plain in southern Australia along the Great Australian Bight. It is the world's largest single exposure of limestone bedrock.
Gulf of Carpentaria
A large, shallow sea enclosed on three sides by northern Australia and bounded on the north by the Arafura Sea.
Darling Range
A low north-south running escarpment in southwestern Australia.
Bismarck Range
A mountain range in central Papua New Guinea.
Owen Stanley Range
A mountain range in eastern Papua New Guinea.
Southern Alps
A mountain range running the length of New Zealand's South Island.

Great Dividing Range
A series of mountain ranges, plateaus, upland areas and escarpment running the entire length of Australia's eastern coast.
Geographe Bay
A small bay in southwestern Australia.
Cook Strait
A strait between New Zealand's North Island and South Island; it connects the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean.
Torres Strait
A strait separating Australia from the island of New Guinea, connecting the Arafura Sea and the Coral Sea.
Bass Strait
A strait separating Tasmania from the Australian mainland, it connects the Indian Ocean to the Tasman Sea.
Caroline Islands
A widely scattered archipelago of tiny islands in the western Pacific Ocean, to the north of New Guinea. Politically they are divided between Palau in the west and the Federated States of Micronesia in the east.
Loyalty Islands
An archipelago in the Coral Sea east of Australia that comprise the French territory of New Caledonia.
Mariana Islands
An archipelago in the western Pacific Ocean. The northern portion of the islands is the U.S. commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands and the island of Guam is at the southern end of the chain.
Lake Eyre (Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre)
An intermittent lake that is Australia's lowest point and, when it fills, is Australia's largest lake; the name was officially changed in 2012 to Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre.
New Hebrides Islands
An island group in the South Pacific that forms the country of Vanuatu.
