What is McDonaldization

-the spread of the principles of fast-food restaurants, such as efficiency, predictability, & calculability, to all spheres of life. -McDonalds now does most of its business outside the U.S. -McDonaldization has come to stand for the global spread of value associated w/ the U.S. & its business culture.

Define Cultural Imperialism

Phenomenon of American media, fashion, & food dominating the global market & shaping the cultures & identities of other nations.

Define Imperialism

The economic domination of one country by another.

Define Globalization

The process by which formerly separate economies, states, & cultures are being tied together & people are becoming increasingly aware of their growing interdependence. (everyone is learning about each others cultures and accepting them)
