I would split it up like the united states and use the southern northern and eastern and western regions. Because it would be easier to figure out where you are going.

Marie, Highland, Mediterranean, Semiarid, and Deserts. You know that the mountains are and that would be a colder area. And the desert you know that it will be very dry.

One for water and bad thing is for flooding.

The weather and the land would change like if it was hot you could have a drought. If the weather is cold would change to ice or anything else.
