I think the little rock 9 was the most important because it was the start to a better education for blacks and integration in schools.

I think white people created Jim crow laws because a jim crow law-a law that enforces segregation. They did this to make themselves feel like they were better than the blacks and they had more power over them and keep blacks on the lower rank of their race. It was also kind of their costom

Booker T. Washington- encouraged african americans to improve their educational and economic well being (wealthier) in order to end segregation. this will give people more respect and get better jobs. W.E.B DuBois- believed African Americans should protest unjust treatment and demand equal rights. I think Booker T Washington had a better strategy because it is better to improve yourself because it will last. protest will not last. He gives them the intelligence people need to be respected in the society. Gain rights on your own. The problem is it is not easy for Blacks to get a better education because of the court case plessy.v.furguson seperate but equal

How did Martin Luther King's philosophy differ from that of Malcolm X? Who do you believe was more persuasive and why? Be able to support your answer with evidence from Ballot or the Bullet by Malcolm X and The Letter from Birmingham Jail by MLK Jr.

MLK- wanted a nonviolence protest. He was very patient because in the Letter he wrote from Jail he said African Americans had waited 340 years for their rights. Also in the letter he wrote that nonviolent protest makes people confront the issue. Malcolm X- Wants to use a violent protest. In the Ballot or the Bullet he wrote that he doesnt consider himself an American because he says if you and I were Americans there would be no problem. I think MLK's argument was more convincing because this was nobody will get hurt and people will be mature and talk about the problem. This is alot more mature, safisticated and educational.
