A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle

A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), also called a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHV) and a plug-in hybrid, is a hybrid electric vehicle that uses rechargeable batteries, or another energy storage device, that can be recharged by plugging it in to an external source of electric power, usually a normal wall socket).

traction motor

A traction motor is an electric motor used for propulsion of a vehicle, such as an electric locomotive or electric roadway vehicle.

electric trains

An Electric train is a train powered by electricity. Examples include: Electric locomotive.

electric motor

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy (as opposed to burning gasoline to do so).

charging station

An electric vehicle charging station, also called EV charging station, electric recharging point, charging point, charge point and EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment), is an element in an infrastructure that supplies electric energy for the recharging of electric vehicles, such as plug-in electric vehicles

durability

the ability to withstand wear, pressure, or damage.

Hybrid cars

a car with a gasoline engine and an electric motor, each of which can propel it

cost efficient/ effective

effective or productive in relation to its cost.

regenerate

gas engine burns gas while battery needs to recharge

eco friendly

not harmful to the environment

gas efficient

(chiefly of a vehicle) designed to prevent the wasteful consumption of fuel

renewable power source

Renewable energy is any energy source that is naturally replenished, like that derived from solar, wind, geothermal or hydroelectric action. Energy produced from the refining of biomass is also often classified as renewable

fossil fuel

a natural fuel such as coal or gas, formed in the geological past from the remains of living organisms.

rechargeable battery

a type of electrical battery which can be charged, discharged into a load, and recharged many times, while a non-rechargeable or primary battery is supplied fully charged

horsepower

a unit of power equal to 550 foot-pounds per second/ the power of an engine measured in terms of this.

Acceleration

a vehicle's capacity to gain speed within a short time

internal-combustion engine

an engine that generates motive power by the burning of gasoline, oil, or other fuel with air inside the engine, the hot gases produced being used to drive a piston or do other work as they expand.

carbon footprint

the amount of carbon dioxide and other carbon compounds emitted due to the consumption of fossil fuels by a particular person, group, vehicle

Miles per gallon (MPG)

the distance a car can travel on on gallon of gas, and can differ weather it is driving in a city or on the highway

pollution

the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or thing that has harmful or poisonous effects.
