Lo-Fi Prototype
List HI-FI advantages vs disadvantages:
Advantages: -Better finished product -Can judge aesthetic appeal -Realistic experience -Can evaluate experience Disadvantages: -User may focus on unnecessary details -Takes a lot of time to make -User may loose track of the big picture
Lo-Fi Prototype
1.A tangible(touchable) representation of a interface design. 2.It is low technology implementation ( papers, glue, colours) 3. Low stakes - not a lot of investments of resources 4.Affords interactivity
How users interact with Lo-Fi prototypes?
1.Need to be willing to go along 2.Have already been trained to think in terms of digital screens 3.Will take more time and physical space to perform tasks than with digital screen.
List LO-FI advantages vs disadvantages:
Advantages: -Fast -Cheap -Easy -Can simulate actual product Disadvantages -Slow response type -Can't get feedback about aesthetics -User may question design quality
Why should LO-FI prototyping should be done?
Because it is low cost and it can be used to develop usability evaluation criteria.
Where should Lo-Fi prototyping should be done?
In context with a representative sample of the target users.
When should Lo-Fi prototype should be done?
In the double diamond model between convergence of finding the right problem and divergence finding the solution. In the human-centered design in the prototype part.
What is the difference between prototypes vs wireframes?
Prototypes are intended to be shown to the end user rather than to be kept within the design team. Wireframes are usually more of a design document to go from design to actual system. Wireframes can be used as a lo-fidelity prototype to save time.
