Greek for affection, friendship love. there is a fondness involved, wanting the best for someone. It should go both ways/mutual. philia also means tendency to, hence hemophilia, the non stopping flow of blood
Plato's take on eros
Plato said Eros didn't have to be physical attraction, aka platonic love.
Eros (the type of love)
sexual love and attraction, passionate. Involves pure emotion, desire, lack of logic, "butterflies in the stomach" "love at first sight" and is irrational.
Agape
spiritual love, viewed as true unconditional love. could be seen as a protector, mutual feeling is not expected. "gods love"
