Mesolithic
This is the 'Middle Stone Age'. It began in 7500BC and ended in 4000BC. It is called the Mesolithic Period because people mainly used stone tools.
Cooking Spit
This was two standing sticks standing either side of a fire with a stick over the top. Used for cooking in the Mesolithic Age
Nomadic
When food ran out the settlers moved to a different place to live. Mesolithic people are nomadic. They don't settle in one place.

Hunter Gatherer
Men hunted wild boar, duck, dove, pigeon and grouse. Men caught salmon, trout and eel in rivers. Women and children gathered berries and hazelnuts.
