Static loading is the term for

holding the same posture for long periods of time, and it can lead to tight muscles.

Ergonomics is

the way of designing and arranging things people use in an efficient and safe way.

Chronic

This is an injury lasting more than three months

Acute

These injuries last less than three months. Most people feel relief after a period of four to six weeks..

Recurrent

This is a repeat of an acute episode. Most people will tend to have at least one episode of recurrent back pain.

Follow these tips to avoid awkward postures and to avoid possible injury

Try moving your body closer to an object or move the object closer to you. Never reach beyond the point of comfort. Face the objects you are working on. Don't twist and reach behind or to the sides of the body. Try adjusting your work tasks in a way that allows you to keep your elbows as close to your body as possible. Instead of squatting, kneeling, or bending over while you work, try sitting on a stool or chair. Use a stepstool to reach items located on shelves that are taller than your shoulder height. Store items on a shelf instead of a floor in order to avoid excessive torso flexion. Consider placing frequently used items in accessible locations.
